Thread of the Week - Best Person for the Job

There have been an increasing number of good discussions on the RamZone Message Board over the last few weeks.

This discussion initiated by jimlyon appealed to me most for this week's Thread of the Week.

First of all a special thanks to Paul Redfern for taking over Thread of the Week for the first time last week and allowing my usual able deputies Paul Mortimer and Mick McDermott to have a break. Travelling the world is nice for me - but I think they dread it each time I announce another trip!

Well it has all happened while I have been away in the bitterly cold Baltic - but I was kept in touch with events with a succession of text messages. On my return I turned to the RamZone MB to read how everyone felt about it all.

RamZoners seem to feel it has been the smoothest possible transition from Billy Davies to Paul Jewell. Most of the Billy supporters have gone quieter now and it seems everyone is getting behind Paul Jewell as he attempts to restore the confidence of the players to escape the seemingly inevitable drop. He (and we) may not avoid the drop but at least perhaps we can avoid creating some unwanted records!

RamZoners feel generally that against Sunderland a real effort was made and there was some belief in ourselves again. It was felt unanimously that we had been very unlucky to lose all three points.

Paul Jewell's back room team is now slotting into place and the rebuilding of the managerial team seems to have been done speedily and efficiently.

RamZone itself has had some more site upgrades and we hope that everyone is starting to get used to our new website and the MB format by now. RamZone has always prided itself on the quality of discussions on our message board and we welcome new posters as well as returning posters from our previous 'home'.

Thanks to jimlyon for setting the ball rolling with this week's Thread of the Week and thanks to all contributors on this thread and all others.

The Thread of the Week can be read HERE and of course is still open for contribution.
