Dale to travel to Burnley in Carabao Cup
Dale were rewarded for their second round away win over Shrewsbury Town with a third round tie away at the so called "Happy Place" Turf Moor to take on Premier League Burnley.
Fans of a certain age will have been absolutely delighted when Kevin Campbell drew out ball number 19 in last night's Carabao Cup third round draw. Many moons ago, of which I'm just about old enough to remember, Dale saw Burnley as huge rivals, more so than the likes of Bury and Oldham. Obviously, time has been kinder to the clarets and it's been an awfully long time since our paths crossed and they've gone on to become an established Premier League team. In fact the last time we took on Burnley in a competitive game was in 1993 in a somewhat heated affair, as per the video below, courtesy of TVOS.
Dale take on Sean Dyche's men the week commencing 20th September so keep your eyes on www.rochdaleafc.co.uk for the ticket news.
Altogether now, Chim Chim Cher-oo....
