He is out of contract in the summer, and he has been told he isn’t in Russell Martin’s plans at Swansea City. There appears to be a string of League one clubs wanting his services, and then there’s DC United. All of a sudden the future looks bright for Yan Dhanda.
Now twenty three and with fifty games behind him for the swans, albeit over nearly four years another swans player has come to a career crossroads. Quite simply where do I go ? A lifeline seems to have been thrown to Dhanda by DC United in the USA. DC and the swans have mutual interests, they come in the form of Jason Levien, Steve Kaplan and Jake Silverstein. The latter having retuned to the states after the Southampton FA Cup game this month.

The other interested party is Bolton Wanderers with rumours of several other league one clubs also looking to talk to the swans about him. DC have signed numerous players this month and Yan Dhanda would need to be one of their ‘international roster’ players if he were to join.
As reported above Russell Martin indicated yesterday Yan could be leaving the club as a loan offer had come in for him. If that is DC United then we expect him to make the move, rumours of a contract thereafter of four years is possible. The problem for Yan is if it’s a loan with option to buy and things don’t go to plan he could find himself in a spot of bother come the end of the American season. However, he really should think hard about this offer, it’s a huge decision for him, but he has no future at the swans that’s for sure.
