Manning & Latibeaudiere in demand as their contracts conclude at Swansea

Joel Latibeaudiere and Ryan Manning are out of contract at Swansea City with both resigned to leaving the club after turning down new and improved contracts at the club. Latibeaudiere has a number of clubs following him and his agents at Wasserman haven’t dragged their heels in getting interest in his signature.

Wasserman also look after the likes of John Stones and Tyrone Mings.

We have numerous sources who support the website, and they inform us that Latibeaudiere’s options are many as four championship clubs are due to do battle to get his services. After a good end to the season and turning down a weekly contract of £7,900 a week with bonuses Latibeaudiere couldn’t agree a deal to keep him at the Swansea.Com stadium. Both he and Manning are excellent utility players able to play in a number of defensive and attacking roles if required.

In Latibeaudiere’s case his agents have spoken to representatives sourcing players for a whole host of championship clubs including promoted clubs Plymouth Argyle, Ipswich and Sheffield Wednesday plus two other unnamed Championship sides. Manning has his eyes on a potential move to Leeds United but has yet to agree any terms and has his sights on the premier league. Both are in a strong position and will move in the next few weeks.

Up front they will cost nothing bar big signing on fee’s.

The somewhat crazy situation is that Latibeaudiere could sign another contract at Swansea but has been left in a take it or leave it situation for any new deal. Manning on the other hand immediately priced himself out of a new contract at the Swans wanting far more than the club have on offer. With Paul Watson allegedly ready to take the reins in a football recruitment role at Swansea after a very successful time at Luton Town where he turned standard footballers in to premier league gems should not be dismissed. The proof of course in Luton’s promotion in recent days.

Many have asked the question ‘Why’ Watson would leave Luton Town at such a crucial time in Luton Town’s history, and pending any dramatic turn around it s a pretty concrete agreement. It’s a simple answer, Watson would be entering in to new territory in the premier league and a completely different environment to what he was in at championship level. In any event his position has now been filled and he wanted a fresh challenge.

The Swans wanted much of this resolved by now but unfortunately the protracted negotiations with Southampton for the services of Russell Martin and four of his staff have dragged on. More on that later today.
