Vernon Nets Only Goal At Heybridge
The U's won 1-0 at Heybridge Swifts tonight thanks to a second half goal from Scott Vernon - his third goal this pre-season campaign.
Vernon's goal was scored around the hour mark and was a stunning 25-yard strike.
The U's latest signing Joel Thomas made his first start for the club, playing the first 45 minutes. Trialist Gary Holt played the final 20 minutes, while youngsters Tom Bender and Jordan Pavett were both given a first team run out.
