Dougie NO to Shrimpers' role
Jonathan Douglas has snubbed a loan-move to Southend.
Having already been linked with a glamour move to Burnley, Jonathan Douglas's Leeds future looks very much uncertain.
It has been revealed that Southend United failed to take him to Roots Hall last week on-loan.
THis surelky underlines that the Eire international does not figure in Gary Mac's long-term plans.
Whether a pretty lightweight, abysmal midfield display by Leeds on Saturday will catapult Dougie back into the frame remains to be seen, but it looks like it being very much an outside chance for the player who was one of the first-names on previous boss's Wise and Blackwell's team-sheet,
I would also question the wisdom of loaning Douglas to a side like Southend, who I feel may be one of our promotion rivals! I was sweating buckets last season when Brighton, with a certain Ian Westlake in good form, made a late surge for the last play-off places.
But who am I to question the sanity of the fine folk who run our great club!
