Rams Announce Squad Numbers For 2010/11

The Derby County official site has released players shirt numbers for the upcoming campaign. After years of disorganised numbering it is nice to have it cleared up nice and early.

First Paul Jewell made his chargers change numbers to shake off any bad luck from the ill fated premiership campaign (worked well hey Paul!!) and then last season the comings, goings and injuries meant that player numbers didn’t at any point seem a priority.

Too many fans numbers mean very little but to many fans it is important to have your favourite players name and number emblazoned on the back of your shirt.

I know I have always liked to have my shirt numbered but in recent years picking a player who will still be at the club come the end of the season has been tougher than deciding on the number itself.

With that in mind I doubt it is coincidental that the release of number comes on the same day the new home strip is launched.

I hope they have stocked up on the number ‘5’ as I have a feeling they will be in very high demand.
