Is wearing a bloody flat cap back to front (like a pillock in a baseball hat, but in tweed) now A Thing? If so, how long has it been going on, and have a righteous populace risen up against it yet?
In this neck of the world such headgear is referred to as a Scally Cap. Not really considered a hipster thing though. Noticed the backward adornment in New York 1984, dunno if that's where it got going but think the look was around long before then.
Wearing a hard hat on site the wrong way round trying to be cool makes me laugh, not so cool when a scaffold clip hits there noggin.
"Stan work hard, could score goals in the air, and was complete team player. He headed balls off the line, and he had so much skill, balance, finesse and amazing touch. His mobility, that electrifying burst of 30 yards was exciting to watch"...Don Shanks.
I've got Disco down (entirely unfairly and am fully primed to receive fairly due pelters from the man hisself) as being a fishermans cable-knit + bearded + quiffed/coiffed + rolled up trouser-legged hipster. He's from the hipster HQ for gawds sake.

Having recently met the aforementioned DD for the first time I can resolutely quash that idea for you.
