The olympic Torch is coming to our fair City

The first ports of call on the Olympic Torch route have been revealed and after leaving Lands End on Saturday 19th May it will arrive in Southampton on Saturday 14th July before going to Pompey on Sunday 15th July and finally arriving at the Olympic Stadium on Friday 27th July for the opening Ceremony.

It will stop in Southampton for the evening where it will light a giant cauldron and be the centre of a giant stage show.

Good news for Southampton and a spectacle that will be probably only be seen once in our lifetimes.

BLEEDRED added 18:34 - May 18 8000 required to carry the touch around the country. Open to nominations. but most will go to sponsors (6000) so not much hope for the common man , just like the tickets most for the big events have been given to sponsors.
