Yes, it was always a great occasion as a kid. I remember the first colour TV in the street in 1976, Southampton v Manure, there must have been 50 people packed into the room. An all day event then, it would be good if the FA Cup winners entered the Champions League, then there would be no reserve teams put in. |  |

The first real final I recall on TV was Liverpool v Newcastle in 1974. I m not sure they will show it now but the programme had Gary Glitter on singing some anthemic song and I recall well Jimmy Saville doing a cup final Top of the pops. Then there was cup final ' its a knockout ' too. All in all a paedo's party.

ITV changed it (as you said) cos the later kick off means more viewers and more advertising revenue. BBC don't have to worry about that so it should have gone back to 3pm today. | |

Yeh totally agree, we'd have given them a better game. Villa didn't show that much fight, Benteke is not a skillful footballer, with the ball at his feet. In the air he's a right handful, but Villa didn't get many chances to lob it up to him. | |
