Yeah Morgan Fox is a functional defender, not great but does the basics hence why he has played so many games at this level. Good squad player. Certainly not sh1t is he? Poor example.
Be interested to know who you think are sh1t Championship central defenders as most seem to be able to do the basics of heading, kicking and marking quite well to me. At the moment most of them can cope quite well with Armstrong apart from in a foot race and even then he decides to fall over too often. He needs to work on how he can get the better of average defenders.
I can only see him going this summer for a top division job. He doesn’t stick anywhere for too long but to leave for a club in the same division after half a season will not look good on his CV and I think that’s important to him.
No there isn’t: most centre backs are functional enough in this league.
Next thing to coach into Armstrong is to stop falling over and moaning for free kicks so often: does him no favours and must be building an unwanted reputation with refs by now. If he stays on his feet something might materialise for him and the team.
If I was a vintage Manchester City fan who was there when they were a serial underperformer overshadowed by their neighbours then I’d be appalled by the soulless monster they have become.
However I’m not and the Premier League have allowed this to happen for the obscene love of money so are now reaping what they sowed. The likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United would do exactly the same thing if they were able to I’m sure.
The sooner they all feck off to a Super Duper Europop Big Boy League the better.
Not necessarily: he was suggesting the Scotland players were holding back against Gibraltar as they didn’t want to get injured and miss the chance of playing in a major tournament as happened with Lyndon. Apart from it being reported as an ankle injury there has been no news on how serious it is yet.
Yeah it’s unrecognisable as a pub now really: seems to be more of a shisha bar nowadays. Last time I went the main room where all the Kinks memorabilia is wasn’t even open: we insisted on sitting in there. Think they have branched out to survive: glad it’s still there as it’s a part of London’s music history and a lot of these places have disappeared.
My nearest (ignoring the couple of Irish ‘converted shop’ bars on the High Road) are the Bald Faced Stag and The Clissold Arms (where The Kinks played their first gig). Neither are great.
This is an emotional performance on so many levels for me: it’s a beautiful song (love the Carpenters version as well) and two out of these three legends have now passed. When Ray Charles sings his part it always affects me: there are tears in Willie Nelson’s eyes as he watches him. Makes me think about the passing of time and the people we have loved and lost, my lovely Dad in particular.
Exactly: how many times recently have one of our players had a chance to play regularly at a major international tournament? He’s had some great games for Scotland and was looking forward to seeing what Lyndon could do this summer. Gutted for him.
