If we conceded a goal every time a striker lost the ball up field, we would be in for cricket scores

There was numerous hairy scary moments in the first 30 where we were caught in possession by hungry Scunny players.

The actual goal came from a mis-hit clearance by Gordon, that hit an unexpecting Gilmour falling to their player to stick in the bottom corner giving Ollie no chance.

Scunny got it right first half, high press - we make mistakes, goal. We’ve seen this before, Hartlepool, York, Southend.

Less said about the penalty the better, but from us gifting them a goal we were the better team.

Second half was crying out for something different, McBride for me was tge option but i’m an armchair manager only. Felt Smith would also have been an option but sadly injury still ongoing.

In a very short period Francis looked switched on.

I assume Scunny ran out of steam second half, as they abandoned the high press for the low block. I recognise it was a good point for them but to me it signalled their acceptance that their ambitions are playoffs not title.

Roberts had all the tricks in the book up front, best one was being 2 yards inside our box for every goalkick and giving it the ‘oh, am i?’ when told to shift.

Keeper did well for them, looked about 12 but took crosses like a veteran.

Ref was, well, nothing we haven’t seen before. For both teams.

Berger won 6 free-kicks in his ‘sub the sub’ appearance.

Ollie made a couple of goid saves early on.

Dear Harry Brook

The shot you have invented, where you fall over and shovel it over fine leg is sh*t. It looks sh*t, you play it sh*t, you get out to it sh*tly.

Yours

Anybody who has watched cricket before in their life.

The answer to the Corey Edward question was interesting too.

It was very well explained by the manager and showed how complex decisions on players can be behind what we see as fans.

In Jim we trust. He’s the king of managing player time.

Player minutes.

Flash 2.5K
Happy: 2.4K
Tobi 2.3K
Eels 2.2K
Beast 2.2K
Ollie 2K
Mani 1.8K
Dave 1.7K

Happy and Beast both put a real shift in last night and we have great option in Petit and new signing too.

Hosannah being fit has given Jim options in right defence too covering both Tobi and Flash.

It was the relentless Sat/Tue last season that led to lots of muscle injuries and with 17 or 19 or 20 games to go, Jim will be more aware than any if us of this too.

Totally agree.

FG played some great attacking football. It was only a 5 minute ‘mad press’ that got us the winner, but boy did it work.

Berger initially then Moss to rob the ball and feed in Mani was brilliant. Ironically Mani could have fed Moss a couple of times in the first half.

Superb save by Ollie late on too.

No Kyle Ferguson on Sat. Wonder if he got sent off deliberately?

What about the fa trophy?

Eels was an unused sub in our exit in the semis last year.

Yup. With him i reckon we could have got 3rd last season and lost to Southend in the semis instead of quarters.

Not me roberto.

We were miserly last season in defence until Eels got his injury, he is our leader, our captain and a fantastic defender. We missed him then and he is awesome now.

Could somebody tell the Solihull manager that the squad that is better than Dale’s (Morecambe) need to win their remaining 16 games, and Dale to lose their remaining games, for the seasiders to be level on points with us at the end of the season.

Could be 3 teams with 100+ points this season. Scunny having a belting season also.
