Except Bennie for Smyth, think there were no surprises in line-up. Dunne and Cook are not 'clowns' as said earlier in this thread. They have been two of our best players in recent weeks but they were caught out badly here and reason looks more tactical than anything else with Blackburn pressing high and playing with spirit. Blackburn were no Oxford or even Charlton and will now survive quite easily. Loved Warburton and his dismissal is sliding doors moment in recent Rangers history but worry we are in 'no Plan B ever' territory. 3 in midfield is not heresy you will get burned at the stake for and if you do not rate Sam Field as is the case with Stephan and Twitterati, you don't understand Championship football fully yet. While we're at it, people should be sticking up for Mbengue. He makes us better on the field. I like him as a player not because he is a nutter but despite that. He is a f-ing good footballer who, um, has some 'judgement' issues. He races forward. Don't get me wrong, he did cost us Wrexham game. But Saito cost us Blackburn game with his first half hero turned villain act. |

Name is Harry Amass and now on loan at Norwich and he is good. Another v good player switching from MLS is Patrick Agyemang of Derby, classy attacker. |

Agree with this. Centre back came from MLS and is the real deal. Also from Boro Aidan Morris and Tommy Conway. And like Lewie Coyle as he is having a good season for Hull. |

Most sorry I felt for Sam Field was being played out on the right wing by Critchley in a home game. Also, even more off topic, Casey Wasserman is head of the LA 2028 Olympics organizing committee and has faced calls for his resignation over the Epstein files from a series of LA politicians. The board of LA 28 yesterday issued a vote of confidence in him. |

That's fantastic news about streaming for your expat fan like me. Still remember my younger brother who was nine at the time crying when result came through of Liverpool winning their game in hand. And we've never been in that position again. Read Don Masson book recently and it's really good on that season. Dave Thomas book good also. You Rs! |

Too right about quality, touch, nous, skill not just with Boro who were excellent but Blades too who are still five points behind the mighty Rs because of their godawful start. Play to feet, shift the ball quick. Football ain't that complicated. |

Watching from afar on stream so may be wrong about this... But thought game management was all wrong well before fatal last 4 minutes. There was this logged at 85 mins by BBC..... Attempt missed. Isaac Hayden (Queens Park Rangers) right footed shot from outside the box is too high. Assisted by Rayan Kolli. Hayden not gonna score. Head for the corner. Keep the ball. Dark arts. Made a mental note of that Hayden shot. Anyway, v good and measured report Clive so thank you. Helped me process my sporting trauma. |
 | Forum Reply | MBengue ban? at 01:34 18 Jan 2026
Agree 100%. Viewing stream from afar, ref had a bit of a shocker. He did not book Rigo for a straightforward pull back to stop Rangers counterattack in 1st half, and let off Sorba Thomas for clattering Jimmy Dunne in the 2nd half clearly In retribution for Jimmy's nasty, late challenge that looks like it has broken Muamba's leg. Also other player involved in Mbengue booking was the old goblin guy himself Ben Pearson. Some may disagree but thought booking was right for Jimmy tackle...mistimed not malicious. So ref did get something right! |

I've lived in Los Angeles for more than 25 years. Most recently made it back for home games against West Brom and Birmingham (lucky!). I took along my brother who should be known to many longtime LFW posters as '18 stone of Hoop'. First time in the wheelchair enclosure in the Paddock and so had superb view of that Kieran Morgan shot. Very special moment celebrating with my brother. |

Good point by AndySinton just now on stream on Madsen strolling over to take corner in front of Loft. Both time wasting and lack of intensity, hurting us more than them. Actually encouraging Wednesday. Lousy attitude. Madsen playing OK but being told not to tome waste at home against this team shows where we are. |

Roy Keane...as good as a player as he is now annoying as a pundit. Glenn Hoddle...passing ability from the Gods, plus those shots and free-kicks. Kevin Keegan...so skilful for a shorter player and so intelligent on and off the ball. Peter Beardsley...like a mini-me of Keegan with the bonus of that gap in his front teeth. Harry Kane...we'll miss him when he's gone. |
 | Forum Reply | Kone goal at 19:14 21 Dec 2025
Just before Madsen takes free kick, Kone spins out towards SA Road touchline. Puts him up against Skipp and Ayew defending rather than centre backs after Dunne heads back and Nelson shanks ball. Kone is king of the bobble. Good to see set piece move come off. |

Don't take this the wrong way Clive but would always rather have you honest than happy! Great report. Personally think Sheffield press right, they should have won easily. But it's a game of opinions innit, and respect yours, earned by many years of no bullshit, no happy clappy match reports following the basket case that is the Superhoops. Also think you would be a better manager than some we have had. |
