Reality is that you won’t have to worry about being in the mix at the end of the season.
As has been said elsewhere he is the best goal scorer we have had in a Rangers shirt since Charlie Austin.
All decent strikers miss golden chances but it is how many of them that they actually score that make them that little bit different. He will get far more than he misses - as for a top six finish by the team this season they are too inconsistent to achieve that.

Yes and that worried me too especially with him appearing to be of the view that the standard of play hadn’t dropped because of them.
He was prepared to up the performances against the league leaders and Wrexham ( I’m sure he realised we lost that one) but no mention of how badly we’d played in the rest against very poor opposition.
Stoke, Oxford, Charlton and todays (accepting the interview was before this one) have been anything but good performances in most other people’s opinions.

The Season is Done

That sums it up nicely - when the fun stops stop and I did - unfortunately it got to the stage when the 90 minutes of the game spoilt the rest of the day - and the worse thing is I haven’t missed it enough to return because what’s on offer has not been good enough often enough to tempt me back.

Definitely more confident but the crosses he had to come for yesterday weren’t challenging.
I’m waiting to see how he deals with better crosses in future but he does look a lot better these last few games in other parts of his game.

Steve Cook - Total Pro

Interesting - on first viewing I thought he was being outpaced but when I watched it again he was keeping up with Dykes and I think would have been in a position to complete a tackle.
However, Cook was nearer to the goal than both but wider - came across and was in a better position to win the ball.
Doesn’t make Edwards Lynford Christie but left me less worried.
Edwards isn’t a right back and eventually will replace Cook with Mbengue filling the right back slot.

Apart from the injuries he bought Edwards to play in the middle of defence - agree with you he isn’t a right back. Not fast enough there either.
Ideally Mbengue at right back and Edwards in the middle with Dunne but Cook has been playing so well he can’t leave him out at present.

All about the injuries. Both in the starting eleven and then those that he can freshen it up with.
Two subs did make a difference when they came on particularly Kolli.

May have had worse results but can’t have been many more worse performances over my lifetime of watching us.

This was a shocking performance - don’t let the weather deflect from how poor and lethargic we were tonight against a team that will probably go down.

Shocking performance - by us and the referee - feel sorry for those that have gone there

So far even more lethargic than first half - we can lose this by doing nothing which we seem pretty good at

As good a player that Edwards may turn out to be as a central defender like Glen Roeder he needs a physical ball winning player next to him - especially for aerial battles. Dunne is that type of player - hopefully if they were to sell Jimmy they would have a similar replacement lined up.

Is anyone else feeling a bit depressed this evening?
at 13:33 2 Jan 2026

Agreed. There are a lot worse teams in the championship than them .Couple that with the fact that they continue to be one of our bogey sides - remember MacDougall and Boyer in the seventies costing us what would have been our greatest season ever - and going for a fifth home win on the trot - it had disaster written all over it and so it turned out to be.
That said this was the third game on the run where we have not performed and it concerns me that our manager seems to be happy with the squad he has when clearly most of us feel we need a new keeper, someone who can hold the ball and play with it as a minimum addition to the squad.
The next month will be interesting.

Hamer - how was his debut?
at 13:48 9 Nov 2025

Ain’t that the truth.
Is someone with his career history the answer I fear not. Not knowing the goalie possession rule is almost unbelievable on both him and the club for not ensuring he knew it.
Almost anyone will look more commanding than Nardi in controlling his box but I think people are going overboard on how well he played. To me shows just how far short the previous keepers have been this season.
