Bumping this back to the top. Can’t believe how quick this has come around, next week!! Only thing now is hoping the weather will be better than today 😱 A big thanks to those of you who have dug deep, it’s much appreciated and if anyone else feels like donating I’d be very appreciative. Thanks. Simon |

Golf, playing and watching (used to love going to the PGA at Wentworth but they’ve moved that to September now). Love a day at the cricket. Rugby but unfortunately there’s no team down here to watch. Love watching the Barbarians at Twickenham. Got back into the gym a few years back as I chucked on loads of weight during lockdown, put on over 2 stone! Not sure if this counts but love walking, South Downs is on my doorstep and the New Forest not too far. Go to the Lake District at least once a year and try to do another mountain region as well each year. |

Thought this was a thread about a follow up to Sharknado! |

Agreed, saw the Red Sox at Fenway Park a few years back, really enjoyed it even though I didn’t know what was going on it passed really quickly but as you say lots of locals just sat in the bar socialising and watching it on telly, I suppose if you play about 60 home games a year you can’t get invested in all of them. Didn’t like the repetitive “let’s go Red Sox let’s go” chant though! At pretty much each innings break they had a presentation on the pitch of local sports teams or military. Would definitely do it again though. Anyway, back to the OP, saw an anniversary games there a few years ago and it was a nightmare getting the Jubilee Line after! |

The sky was looking ominous so l asked Siri, "Surely, it's not going to rain today?" And she replied, "Yes it is, and don't call me Shirley." That was when I realized I'd left my phone on Airplane mode. |

Trouble is it’s a money pit, the 20th promotion evening had to be held in a hotel that not only cost money to hire but with a stadium that had the facility the club could have made money out of holding it in our own stadium. That’s the main reason we need to have a new stadium. |

Me too. How on earth did he only get 26 caps for Scotland, his defending wouldn’t look out of place now he was so cultured. |

I’m with you on that, this whole thread might as well have been in Swahili! |

I’d have thought we could increase capacity by digging down, wonder if it’s been looked into? |

Best queue I got involved in was in an ex-miners club just outside Newcastle, Sunday lunchtime queuing outside at about 11.45, get in to join a post office style roped queuing system, staff working flat out, next one in line gets a drink! Gone by about 12.30 when the rush died down - BRILLIANT! |

Coming back this year, end of June. Spent many a great weekend there, saw some great bands as well! |
| Forum Reply | Eze for England! at 10:44 7 Jun 2024
I’m not sure it was a case of Eze or Grealish, more a case of Gordon or Grealish. Anyway, we’re not talking about starting XI in either case, perhaps third choice, same as Dunk v Branthwaite! |

Everything I’ve read about him says an egomaniac. Went for Rome for his own glory rather than cut off the retreating Germans which would have saved countless Allied (and German) lives. His glory was very short lived though as D Day started 2 days later! |

I’ve downloaded the Unheard Tapes and will watch when I’m at home alone. I’ve been to the American war cemetery at Omaha Beach, Pegasus Bridge, the British beaches, it's both heartbreaking and uplifting at the same time, as said would thoroughly recommend it. My wife went to Portsdown Hill last night to watch the display over Portsmouth. I’ve got the special service on BBC now, I’m not one for being too emotional but I keep having to wipe the tears away. |
