Top Five Goals Ever 13:42 - Jan 4 with 2904 viewsdilleydaler

Whilst basking in that rare glow of glory. Not the best strikes necessarily, but the most dramatic. To qualify you have to have been in the ground to count them.

My top list, in no particular order:

1. Steve O'Shaunessey v Northampton FA Cup - The Sandy went bonkers with over 9,000 in the ground
2. Paul Simpson away at Rubbish and Dustbins, play off semi final, my mate was just saying, not from there......
3. Gareth Griffiths v Coventry FA Cup
4. Matt Done, away at Orient this season
5. Ben Muirhead penalty v Darlo Play off semi pen shoot out
6. Rory McArdle v Stockport at Wembley

Look like we won't be going to Dover in round 4.....

In hindsight, Olly Lancashire's header v Northampton is looking like it should be on this list.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

3, 6 and 7 should be in any top 10. They were special for the history they created, rather than for being spectacular. Perkins goal was extra-special along with O'Shaughnessy for sheer spectacular effect.

All magic moments.

Ronnie Moore's goal against Scunthorpe was both spectacular and important as it was the goal that took us to Old Trafford, special mention must go also to all the goal Steve Taylor scored that season, happy memories from the bad old days before we were famous!!!!!

Atko 90 is a good shout.

There are some goals on this thread that while very significant, don't exactly fit the "dramatic" theme mentioned in the first post. Only my opinion of course.

I am still adamant that Rose scored and the ball had already crossed the line before Thackeray put it in.

I always have to mention Peake's overhead kick we rarely got to see that kind of skill back then!

Higginbothams goal at Accy also deserves a mention.

I thought about the Rushden goal in the Spotland, Mark Peters with the back pass which Billy missed, remember giving Talbot some stick from just behind the dug out. He had the last laugh the night though. McEvilly's twinkle toes in the first leg wasn't bad either.
