Best bet for relegation 09:08 - Aug 3 with 5378 viewsplasmahoop

On sporting life. Com, we are the blokes advised best bet for relegation at 5 to 1, and also part of a 50 to 1 bet to be relegated with Bolton and Rotherham. What a cock jockey, he doesn't know what he's talking about

I admire peoples confidence but let's take a look at some of the evidence.

We were lower mid table last season with an appalling away record and the squad for the coming season is considerably weaker. With days to go until the end of the transfer window we do not have adequate replacements for the players that have left and cannot sign anyone unless it's for a packet of cheeseballs come January. We also have a manger who has been sacked more times then Frank Spencer which includes being sacked twice from the same club on two occasions...

We are relying on young players with little experience at this level so I would say from the outset, we are in deep sh*t this season.

Sorry Toast, that negative resume about the manager is ridiculous.

Most managers these days have sackings on their Cvs and you don't mention that he has actually won a domestic trophy and reached a European final as well as been England manager.

A case CAN be made for relegation and 5/1 seems about right to me (6th worse team).

Presume you're putting your house on at 5/1 given your views?

Surprised bookies have Ipswich as the 3rd worse team though (7/2 - 3/1 to go down)

Them, Preston and Sheff Utd are big 'value'.

Probably because Mick is no longer there. After all, the experts warned Ipswich fans that they should beware losing him!

On last season those odds would be understandable, but after they played more football against West Ham last week than foe many a year, hope is high in the town.

I'm certainly not feeling confident that we will be much above a relegation battle this season.
Buckle up, its gonna be a bumpy ride.

Poll: Serious concern we'll double drop?

We started and persevered with Washington for too long at the start of last season. Pav was in and out of the side with varying degrees of success. Having Eze, Smyth and OBS playing up front gives us a far more dynamic threat going forward.

Now probably need to score more than we will concede as the defence is significantly weaker, at least until Hall and Furlong return.
