I stopped going a few years ago but was a season tickets holder for many years and have witnessed some truly awfull managers and players in that time. Although this MB of which i`ve been part of for 17 years often went into mental break down from time to time over the odd lose hear and there it never truely reflected the general feeling amongst those that actually went to games week in and out. Could someone who goes please reassure me that this is still the same.

I don't go very often........ money, geography etc........ here's some of the chants from today:

At 0-0 "We're drawing Away, We're drawing Away. How sh*t are you? We're drawing Away"
At 1-0 "You're nothing special, we lose every week"
Also:
"We've got the ball, we've got the ball"
"We had a shot, we had a shot. How shit are you? We had a shot"

I would say that we have developed a very strong line in self-deprecating chants which I am in no mood or position to criticise.

Chanting against the team is fked. Proper fked.

People always mention loyalty in football saying that the fans are the only loyal ones and that players, managers and directors always move on and don’t really care.

Well if the fans have one job it is to support the team. Chanting against them is a cnt’s trick. If they aren’t being the twelfth man then what exactly are they?

You can crucify a player for kissing the badge of the team he leaves for. Well this is like sucking the other team’s cock frankly.

Completely agree mate.

Yeah, fair play, I'd never do it, but presumably a lot of those lads go to a lot of away games and for the fortune they spend get served up with that most of the time. My outing was disappointing, but after a while it must drive you nuts.

Hi Sharpy

I didn’t renew this year for a few reasons,
don’t often do the night games anymore (due to Met line closing at 10pm for the last few years, making it harder to get home).
Many of the mates I went with for years just don’t go anymore.
There are so many other ways I’d rather spend my time.
Funnily enough, decent football has always been one of the least reasons for me to attend games, it was always more about the day out - but now it’s not the fun it was, and the footballs mostly poor, so a double whammy.

Hope you’re well

Spot on. Some of the chants yesterday were braindead. A case of “look at me, aren’t I clever?!” No, you’re a d*ckhead. SUPPORT the team or don’t turn up.

Anyway, Sharpy, i’ve been on this board for the same time and am still an ST. Sadly, I actually think this MB is representative of the fans at games at the very least. Yesterday, there were loads around me who just started slating the team from the off. First 15 min we were far the better side. Then they scored. We still played okay until the Matt Smith sub. Don’t get me wrong, we weren’t Brazil. But we were better than at home to Norwich and far better than many away games i’ve seen. A low bar, agreed.

However, the support’s mindset has changed. People aren’t looking to “support”; they’re looking to find fault. At HT someone in the bogs said to me Swandea deserved to be 3 or 4 up. They’d only had two shots all half.

Add this to the chanting, and sadly this MB is representative or more reasoned than some of the fanbase at the games. Go on FB or Twitter and this MB is the refuge of sanity.

I said after Bristol City, I thought McClaren should go. Ridiculous after 3 games, but I felt we were so far off what was acceptable and required that it would take him too long to turn around. He did manage improvements and we got results against some poor sides. I still think he should go, not just because we’re easy to score against, are playing the wrong formation (IMO), play no wingers, and his in game decisions hamper us, but also because I now don’t think he gets the club, and the fanbase have made their minds up.

McClaren’s comments after Blackpool and yesterday just reinforce those two points. I’d be perfectly happy with Ramsey or Paul Hall holding the reigns briefly, whilst a proper process is undertaken to find someone who fits with the great work we’re doing in the youth set up, and return the first team to the broad direction we were travelling in.
