The 3pm Saturday rule is complete nonsense.
It seems that there will be no change to the regulations.
However perhaps we may get to see some League Two games involving Colchester next season.
Wrexham will be ok though I'm sure!

Sadly I think you’re right Durham, Planet Hollywood will do very well out of the deal. I’m pleased if it means more cash in our coffers, my concern is that presumably any games broadcast by Sky will mean no ifollow stream, so we’ll have to additionally purchase a permit from Sky to watch? |  |

My guess it will be continuation of the present. Largely Championship live. Then mainly highlights compilations of League One plus League Two. I suspect it will have no impact on I-Follow. | | | |

All have 12-30 kick off .

I reckon 10 games each.
But some teams will be more equal than others.
So Wrexham will have twice as many games as say Accrington or Morecambe or even Colchester.
And how much cash will we get?

It's really tricky to try to get to the bottom of what the numbers represent, but here goes.
League games only, Sky's commitment is to all midweek, and all opening and final games of the season. In a typical 39-week season, for the U's that means seven midweek games and the two at beginning and end = 9 games live.
Obviously, that's for all teams, so multiplying by 24 you get 216 games, but it's actually half of that because in each game two teams are involved = 108 streamed live.
That leaves 140 Saturday games in their commitment, and 37 weeks to stream them = less than four more televised games per club per season on average, obviously though biased by performance, draw factor etc.
Unless we're doing exceptionally well, I think we're unlikely to see more than 10 or 11 U's games live on their streaming service.
Currently, through iFollow, we get all the midweek games anyway, plus these days, very likely the last game of the season at the very least when they mess around with the football calendar, so at least 8. Plus, of course, for the others, we get the commentary service through iFollow (or even get to watch if you're out of the country).
The question I guess is will Sky allow iFollow to coexist, streaming their own commentary and/or live footage alongside Sky? I'll be pleasantly surprised if they do. If they don't, what happens to the coverage we currently enjoy through iFollow for the other 30+ games?
I suspect that this is indeed the death knell for iFollow, and the rank and file supporters will be held to ransom by Sky for subscription services that they can price how they like. The club may indeed do well from broadcasting fees for the 11-12 matches that are likely, but after that? | |
