Whilst Adi Ashok remains absent with New Zealand, Essex CCC Metro Bank Cup hero Charlie Allison and Essex and Scotland U19 Mackenzie Jones return to the CEECC First XI on Saturday at Castle Park where Hadleigh & Thundersley CC are the visitors. Match start 11:30, 50 limited overs, free admission, bar open all afternoon.
So if you are not travelling to Gillingham, are at a loose end and fancy watching these exciting young prospects, you are most welcome. CEECC remain in joint second place with Brentwood CC in the Essex Premier League .
The final league game (first Saturday in September) will again be at Castle Park against 2023 league champions, Hornchurch CC. Adi was not selected for the England tour (only UAE tour), albeit he will be back in the country. It would be great to have him, Charlie and Mac back to take the shine off their celebrations!

Adi Ashok is featuring today for NZ versus Worcestershire (T20 warm up). Bowled three overs for 21 whilst the Blackcaps bowled out the home side cheaply. I would be surprised if he features against England as he wasn’t originally included in that squad, but who knows.
I predicted he would play for his country back in March. But didn’t expect it to occur before his 21st birthday. | | | |
