I enjoyed the typically Cliveian obstensibly-nothing-to-do-with-the-game bravura opening of his match report. I've just watched tonight's European Cup highlights on ITV. This from the man who during the 2002 Irish World Cup campaign displayed from first to last zero sense of humility. His know-no-doubts ego being shown to be larger and much more important than Ireland's entire land mass. More front than Brighton pier, the sheer brass neck of the man.He makes for a very entertaining pundit indeed, but like Geoffrey Boycott over in cricket, you're left feeling somewhat dubious about the righteousness of his morality and character.
