Personally believe that we'd have worked wonders if we were to get him a loan with a team in the national league. He's literally only played a few games in the National league south. Any interest from league two clubs would be fanciful in my opinion. |

Not the 2025/26 season version. He barely played for Bristol City when loaned to them in January. About 270 minutes played!
We've got enough of those players already that either flatter to deceive and/or simply not good enough. |

For mine, he should have reacted quicker to the shot from Smyth that was saved by their keeper. Greater anticipation was shown by their defender to clear the loose ball than his to score. That's poor. [Post edited 2 May 14:09]

Personally hope they manage to do it, but I suspect that either Ipswich or Southampton will get 2nd spot.
A club that has a similar average gate to ours is punching above its supposed weight and should be the blueprint for us to follow.
First team achievements aside, they outperform us at all levels. As a category 2 academy, their youth team reached the semi-finals of the FA youth cup a few years ago. Now that's a serious achievement. Their development squad, like Charlton's, regularly finish above ours. All achieved, no doubt, in the absence of ologists.
As much as I don't like them, there's a grudging respect from me for how they are facing up to the big behemoths in this league. [Post edited 22 Apr 17:22]

Not at all. The title of the thread references playing with freedom and considering that includes Adamson's full debut, yesterday, comparing that to Morgan's is hardly unreasonable especially the additional pressure that surrounded Morgan's.

The ability to play with freedom or be largely uninhibited when making a full debut in the starting eleven, is an innate quality and is commensurate to your playing ability.
Morgan made his starting eleven debut under very intense pressure v Sunderland, as we had such a poor start to the season: 2024 to 2025, yet wasn't inhibited or fazed by the occasion. For he and Kolli, whose starting eleven debut was v WBA, I believe; are both patently of a higher calibre to any of their counterparts that have followed them since. |

Very odd signing considering his age and the fact that he was not close to being in first-team contention. We released Aaron Drewe at the same age and Adamson is no better.
At least Drewe managed to hold his own when he was up against Sorba Thomas, when the latter was playing for Huddersfield a few years ago. |

I can't see it being in league one as he's not physically developed to play centre-half. He looks raw and too rash to the say the least, as evidenced by two penalties conceded by him in less than 45 minutes of playing time, albeit tonight's wasn't but was still awarded.
Long way off from being championship material. |

Nothing has happened per se. In terms of goals and assists, he's mapping what he did last season; i.e. steady state, very ordinary, which should never have given rise to the preposterous £3m+ outlay.
In his final season for us, the much derided Chris Willock still managed to attain higher number of goals and assists than Saito has managed in either of his seasons with us. [Post edited 5 Apr 14:11]

Great post.
In total agreement and here's hoping he gets to double figures by way of goals before the end of the season. Six goals (1 in the league cup) in the derisory amount of playing minutes afforded him, is an impressive haul.
Undoubtedly the best academy player followed by Morgan, but this was known before the start of this season and nothing has changed in that regard.
Had we given him more playing minutes, instead of persisting with a series of underwhelming performances from the likes of Saito, we would now be on the cusp of the play-offs. |

Keep playing this lad for the rest of the season and he will be the third player to reach 10 goals.
If only we played him more this season, then we would have been closer to the play-offs. 6 goals this season, includes 1 in the league cup, in f'all minutes for this talented player.

Not a Millwall fan in any shape or form, but what a spirited performance they gave today at Portman Rd. Defended to the last and weren't intimidated by a team with better quality by way of personnel, but that was more than matched by Millwall's togetherness, team spirit and excellent tactics from the manager.
Let's not take the nonsense that we keep hearing that QPR cannot compete against the likes of Ipswich. It can be done and Millwall are liiving proof of what can be achieved if you have people in place with the savvy and requisite acumen to build a balanced squad of hardened, experienced championship players alongside some real talent obtained at prices lower than what we paid for Saito and Celar for example [Post edited 21 Mar 14:49]

Respectfully, your facile rugby league remarks to which you are entitled, speak volumes. If league is "attritional", I'm struggling to find a suitable adjective to describe the slow, stop, start nature of rugby union, ball out of play for eons, scrum re-sets aplenty and the vastly inferior fitness levels and lower-grade handling skills and dexterity of union players.
As for "low crowds" dream on. In the UK, the average crowds in both codes are nearly identical. I recently read an article stating that 7 out of 10 premier rugby union clubs, in the absence of wealthy benefactors, would not be financially viable.
You clearly have no insight of the thriving rugby league behemoth in Australia: the NRL, where the crowds at virtually every club comfortably exceed the average gates of union sides with the biggest ground capacities in the UK. For reference, union in Australia is now the poor relations of the two codes. [Post edited 20 Mar 22:27]

Wow, Penrith.
I thought that they would beat the Roosters, but not as convincingly as this. Just like the Wahs, they correctly identified the defensive failings on the Roosters' right side.
Penrith have been handed a tough run of games at the start of the season: first six games, at least on paper, but having just conceded two tries in three games would suggest otherwise. |

Our best two youngsters from the develpment group of players both played their part in today's victory.
As others have said, I fear that they both won't be rewarded with starts next week against Pompey, and that would be wrong, especially if either or both were replaced by Saito and Varane. |
