I know i am not one for controversial threads but didn't the club suggest that they'd be giving Online Ticketing a trial at end of the season i assume this will be MK Dons at Home?

It's brought up in the 'Keith Hill' thread started by Sandy_dale, but yes, a trial was mentioned.

Colin mentioned in his Dale Player interview that online ticketing is going to be introduced and that they have been working on it since before Christmas. I suspect it will be trialed for the MK Dons game?

Personally I am not sure how much use it will get outside of all ticket games.

I think it'd be wise to trial it on season tickets first rather than a match. At least any problems with season tickets gives plenty of time to rectify the issues trialling first on a match day could be a disaster.

At least it is finally being implemented.

It will be of absolutely no use if it's just launched as an option (*fees apply).
However if its used with promotions and incentives then it can be of great use.

It could be used for ticket bundles? For example you could buy tickets for Sale Sharks last three games of the season and save money. I have used the Sale online booking system a number of times, but there is no cash at the turnstile and it saves queuing on match day. If you want to sit, you can pick your seat. At Dale only season ticket seats are 'reserved seating', apart from on all ticket matches.

It will make things easier for people to buy tickets for all ticket games and provide the club with more data to use to promote matches. I cannot see tickets being cheaper online than on a match day, although that would be an interesting discussion. Would offering a £2 discount on tickets up to 12 pm the day before a match (just picking a random time) attract more supporters?

If fees did get charged then it would result in loss of fans. It needs to get resolved for the start of next season, which I am sure the new marketing whizz will organise and if not it ain't the end of the world.

I pay 45p 'admin fee' to print my own ticket when I use the Sale online ticketing system. It seems fairly standard on these type of things, although I have no idea why. Cinema, Ticketmaster etc all use it.

Because us poor saps that use the system often have no choice but to use it in many cases (Ticketmaster, pre-booking cinema seats and reserving a seat etc etc).

It beggars belief to me that an automated system which shouldn't require an "admin" fee incurs one when buying a ticket from a person who has to be paid a wage should be exempt from an "admin" fee. If RAFC really do want to boost attendance, I really hope they do not add this fee.

Admin fee = stealth price increase.

I like Sale's method of print your own. In fact most fans I see up at the AJ bell do print their own or have the barcode scanned straight from their smart phone.

I'm making a wild guess but the e ticket readers probably cost a couple of grand each. If by making it easier for folk to buy tickets we could increase our home gates by only a few % for a season it would be worth it (which is still a piss poor league one crowd IMO we should aim higher).

The club would more likelier put prices up for pay on the day to £16 Sandy, £19 Pearl St, £21 main stand - but then incentivise online booking with this seasons prices of £15, £18 and £20 ?

Hope you are right but this isn't the business model used in other leisure industries.

This would also mean we could charge away fans £21 increasing revenue that way without charging home fans any more. Just getting it started is the main thing - the amount of things bought online now it shouldn't be an issue purchasing tickets this way for home fans - printing your own ticket and using PayPal or debit card. The sooner we do it the less of an issue it will be

Talking of tickets, I've been away this week and have just been catching up on the club's twitter updates and mention is made of Colin Garlick's interview containing discussion on season tickets. For those who have listened, what was said?

I bought some end of season do tickets today and briefly spoke to Colin about season tickets. He said information will go out next week and they will be in sale the week after.

Cheers for that. Hope we resist the urge to break the £20 barrier.

If they think they can get me to watch that crap by paying me 275 quid they are mistaken. And putting it up to 300 quid next month wont change my mind either.

Good job 442 asked you really.

When I was your age, I used to enjoy the odd game of tennis. Or was it golf?

Hornets are trying out season cards this season. Instead of ripping a ticket out of a book, you scan a barcode when you go in and that checks that you have paid. I understand it can be adapted so you can pay for an individual match on the web site, then use the card to scan in to that one match. It would make sense to do that at Dale as it would save time at the turnstiles with people hunting for change etc.

Buckets released their ticket prices today

How many of us Dale fans would put up with a 20% increase in the price of our season ticket ?

As the Bury Times says:
BURY have confirmed a 20 per cent increase in the price of adult season tickets for the 2015/16 season.

Full-priced adult season tickets will be £300, up from £250 this season.

Season ticket prices for under-23s and students have increased from £125 to £175, while tickets for senior citizens and the disabled are also £175, up from £120.

Prices for u16s have gone up by £15 to £75, while u11s remain £25 and u5s are free.

Matchday tickets next season will be priced from £18 for adults, £5 for u11s, free for u5s and £12 for all other categories.

The club's board said in a statement that the possibility of promotion to League One had to be factored into the new pricing structure.

"The 2015/16 season is still undecided, League One or League Two?" read the statement.

"With that in mind we have to make sure we can financially compete whilst making sure we still offer affordable prices.
