tomorrow can't come quick enough 14:17 - Oct 16 with 2030319 viewsbatman

Not for us, but for Bury.
i was credit checking a potential customer and decided to nosey onto
BFC's file and was (or maybe not) supprised to see a new CCJ for circa £22k lodged
only Wednesday this week.
looks like they are in need of a bumper crowd tomorrow to settle some bills

Thanks for that

It was said the director in question has a meeting scheduled with the top man at the EFL tomorrow. He also admitted that the EFL will make a decision very shortly and atm he expects that they will revoke our membership so liquidation will be the only option. Apparantly Plymouth and Notts County have already been informed to prepare both clubs to move up a league

Dale is hanging on for his money but no way will the EFL wait till the 19th of June to see where we stand. With no deal being even remotely close to being completed they will have no choice but to expell us from the league

There will be a certain level of irony if the kings of winning promotions that mean absolutely nothing get their league place back from all this.

Fair play as you were there and obviously I wasn’t.

I had a quick gander at the videos linked earlier on this page and it just reminded me of that where the people attending were like clapping seals when Blackwell and Day spoke. I just find it staggering that the bloke has gone from being fully complicit in what Dale is up to, to then being hailed as some kind of hero. Surely you lot must have learnt that an hour of a blokes time saying all the right things should be treated with some kind of caution.

There have been comments about him being in bed with Dale but for me personally tonight proved he is not.

All the whispers i have heard recently regarding him have been positive. Very trusted members of staff who have been at the club for years have said he has openly gone against Dale on numerous occasions. If you heard him speak tonight there is now way imo anyway that he is in bed with Dale

As i said in a earlier post i do not think he was saying what we wanted to hear. Far from it. I judged Day and Dale as the corrupt w*****s they have turned out to be almost immediately. This guy gave a totally different vibe and imo is not out to hurt the club

The fact that he turned up said a lot to me. We was in a small room and it was jam packed. 200-250 i would say and he come across as someone who was finally being honest and telling us truths. A lot of them were the opposite of what I wanted to hear

What is in it for Dale if bury are likely liquidated? In money terms. Surely the land will be repossessed as part of the loan agreement - who will ultimately own Gigg Lane?

Is Gigg Lane still an Asset of Community Value? If so is it the entire site or just the pitch and stands?

I dont think it means much James. Certainly if bury fc cease to exist.

'If the owner of land or buildings that are listed as assets of community value wants to sell them, they must contact the council who will notify the community group that nominated the asset. The community group then has the opportunity to register its interest as a potential bidder, triggering a six month moratorium period during which, subject to certain exceptions, the owner can only sell the asset if it is to a community interest group. After the six month moratorium period the owner can sell to whomever they choose.'

So it could be better if it is just enough of the site to maintain a football club is classed as the ACV as this would mean the community need raise less funds than if it is entire site.

I think they've seen the last ball kicked at Gigg Lane James. If Day/Dale's overall end game was to build on the land it wont be sold to whoever listed it as an asset of the community - and they haven't got the funds anyway.

There's been too much time and effort gone in over the years for this simply being a case of grabbing the land on the cheap. Building houses on a plot deemed to be stolen from the local community would be far from an easy task.

A reformed AFC Bury may be offered the option to play at Gigg Lane at a staggering rate of £250,000 per year (the ground having "changed hands" over the Summer so money not going to Dale), and find themselves with little option but to play there. They could find themselves in a Stockport situation where they are playing teams that they are several times bigger than but unable to compete. Its desperate times and a "Bury FC" of sorts could find themselves agreeing to any deal just to maintain football. The social club is not an issue. A suitable boycott of there will see it inevitably passed back to the club.

I cannot see any situation where they can prove to the EFL by fixtures day that they can fulfil those fixtures next season and EFL will have no option but to kick them out. The Coventry situation was real but it allowed time for pressure to be put on to come up with a solution. You're talking days here.

Chalky may have the last laugh after all then.

Am I right in thinking that the only club ever expelled was Leeds City? Seem to remember that as a quiz question somewhere.

Port Vale were ,relegated’ from division 4 in the sixties but alowed to apply for re election, which they did and rejoined the league.

I wonder what the cut off is?

There must be a date where if they go tits up teams earn a reprieve. Or would league 1 have 23 teams.

Is selling Gigg Lane to clear the debts then a ground share a viable option or one that would be even allowed?

It seems that Bury are roughly 2 weeks away from the EFL deadline. They have been told that they will be expelled and their membership suspended if they have not sorted their future, to the satisfaction of the EFL, - PRIOR to the 19/20 season fixtures being arranged.

That will be BEFORE they are released to the public on 21st June.

Gigg lane has been put up as security against a loan. They would need to pay off the loan.

In the summer of 92, Maidstone resigned from the league after the fixtures had been arranged, so Division 3 had one team less and everyone else had two blank dates.

June 20th it is then, but their future has to be secured well before that, to the satisfaction of the EFL.

As their Court hearing isn't due until the 19th, it's difficult to envisage how there is time to sort it. Unless the massive debts are cleared and settled prior to the hearing, they will likely be wound up.

Cue celebrations in Plymouth and at Meadow Lane.

I think lots of the Gigglers are resigned to their bleak outlook, but there are just a few strands of hope, to which they cling.

Of course, perhaps the bank who hold the charge on Gigg Lane would allow it to be put up for sale on the proviso the mortgage is paid up in full before BFC see a penny. But then would the remaining funds be sufficient to cover the other debts.

What grieves me so much about the Bury FC saga is that there is so much money being sloshed around in the Premier League from TV rights and betting, yet there is not a whisper from them that would help a club that is quite clearly only days from extinction.
And then there are all these Premiership players who are paid megabucks by their club and not one of them appears to have shown any interest in keeping the recognised English football leagues intact when, for some, it would only cost one month's salary to bail out a club that is in dire straits. like Bury FC. But then, most of those megabuck rewarded players are not English so what do they care?
I am certainly not supportive of rewarding bad management such as that seen over recent years at (not just) Bury, but if the EFL are charged with the responsibility to be good custodians of this beautiful game then perhaps they should be precepting from the Premier League, for a pot to salvage such situations as a last resort. Maybe they shouls also get their own shop in order to prevent rogue buisness persons from ownership of football clubs.
If the Premier League could recognise that it is the pyramid of the lower leagues that encourage the youngsters to improve their careers and become better players, with hopes of ultimately becoming Premier League players, then English football might just benefit in the long run.

It was said last night by MM that clubs usually recieve the fixture list 1 week before they are publicly released so that would be the 13th

Realistically we have 7- 10 days max to get it sorted

Cripes TVOS shows how times have changed. I remember a Tuesday night game where Maidstone won I think 2-1 at Spotty.

Clearly remember 4 or 5 supporters (they were already, as a club, in the mire) jumping up and down just inside the left-hand-side of the old Pearl Street stand covered area on their victory. Tannoy bloke, forgotten his name, congratulated them wholeheartedly on their success and long journey - as did a lot of the Dale supporters.

Why should footballers or the Premier League bail them out?

If I spend more than I earn and get in the shit then it’s my responsibility to sort it out. I certainly wouldn’t be expecting someone with more money than me to cover my debts.

You say that Premier league clubs are paying players extortionate amounts but bury have been doing that in league 1 and league 2 - how do you think they signed Leon Clarke, James Vaughan,Jermaine Beckford,Nicky Maynard,Nicky Ajose,Harry Bunn and their other 'top' earners? They benefited from these signings at the time and stopped other teams signing these players by paying 3,4,5 grand a week to them - money it now transpires they DIDN'T HAVE. Why should ANYONE bail them out. Sorry but I have no sympathy for them at all.
