I read an article on Billy a few months ago, talking about his time at Burton etc. He basically said he likes a drink and pie and couldnt really cope with the pressures further up due to fitness. Thats why him and Softlad have reunited again. Personally, i wouldnt and i dont thibk coleman will want anything to do with us either. The problem we have is that we have 5 strikers atm, done,hendo,andrew,davies, gillam and you can even thow in Slew we need to get the right service to Done he needs pace and playrs willing to help him press upfront.Our wingers havent done that this season. |  |

Done needs to position himself next to the big men, Andrew and Davies. They head the ball down to him. Simples. On the face of it, Hill isn’t asking him to do this, hence he isn’t getting the service. I would be asking another striker to keep close by as well. |  |

Looks like Stanley's promotion bid is stalling, so maybe they'd take Jordan Williams in part exchange.
At the moment Hilly's position seems to be that the present squad can get us out of trouble, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't sign a couple of players once the window opens. And if Slew is on a 6-month contract, it wouldn't be unsurprising if he goes. [Post edited 27 Dec 2017 21:23]

Watched a kid called kieron glynn for FC utd against Salford yesterday who played middle of the park,we could do a lot worse than have a look at this kid as he looked very good.

Possibly the wrong stage in the wrong season to find out whether someone is or is not capable of taking on League 1 opposition.
We need proven performers and they won't come cheap. We might be a L1 side but are unlikely to match that status with L1 wages. Punching above your own weight seems to have its limitations after a while.
On the other hand, Spring is just around the corner, and we may find another NML awakening from his slumbers to rattle in a hat full on firm pitches.

You’re right about affording him. Redshaw was offered a better deal than we were prepared to give. Salford are an anomaly, though.

I agree that it is very worrying that there is possibly no money full stop.
I am not sure Salford are just an anomaly ,although having Peter Lim backing you does help somewhat.
Just looking at the non league attendances tells me there are some bigger hitters than us much further down the footballing pyramid who could in theory pay better wages etc which is also quite worrying when it comes to recruiting new players.

Possibly, but Salford are an anomaly even within that. They would compete well financially in League Two and possibly League One at present.
But yeah, your wider point is valid. You only need look at the rise of your Burtons, Fleetwoods etc in recent years. AFC Fylde are another. | |
