Hello - A friend of a friend will be travelling to Sunday’s game as an away fan -
And has drawn a blank from the club when asking about disabled parking provision for visiting fans.
Could anyone point me in the direction of a contact he might try at the club, or does anyone know where the best on street option would be for a disabled driver. Thanks |  | | |  |

They are usually available on request, from the office, in advance of the match. In view of the likely capacity for the game, they are doubtless all reserved/allocated. The surrounding streets are chaotic on a normal match day, so God knows what awaits us on Sunday.
It really is difficult to suggest anywhere except Oulder Hill, but that presents a problem of distance.
Is he ambulant or wheelchair bound ? St. Clements Church offer car parking spaces on match days, so perhaps a call to them secure a place. It's generally, first come, first served, but worth a try at least. [Post edited 16 Feb 2018 15:07]

I Have a Blue Badge and for many years have paid for a season long car park pass at the full price, as I am not a wheelchair user. I received a telephone call from the club after lunchtime on Tuesday. I was informed that I would not be allowed access to the car park as all spaces were needed for visiting media etc. I explained that I was a holder of a Blue Badge but that made no difference whatsoever. I could not use the car park. Why was I not advised at the time of my purchasing tickets in person that I would not be allowed to park? This is a massive home goal. I cannot imagine what the National Press might make of this scenario. Could somebody not have had the foresight to arrange for a reserved secure parking area at, say, Oulder Hill School for the Press and hire a coach to transfer them to and from the ground? Why should somebody from the Evening Standard, who probably does not even know the location of the Town of Rochdale and will probably never return, get preference over the disabled? I have been regularly supporting Dale since the early 1950's and was one of the 400+ who turned out for our lowest ever league gate. I ask of nothing other from the club other than that for which have paid. I just hope that those who need the wheelchair access do not find themselves in the same predicament as the rest of us. |  | | |

Sorry to hear that the club have taken this stance. I have heard from box holders that they feel shafted as well and will not be renewing next season.

If national media get hold of this they will be all over it,it doesn't directly affect me, but I think it absolutely stinks even more so for FANS that have actually paid...

It is shocking that blue badge ticket holders have been thrown off the car park for this game. Under the law, the club has to make sure that a disabled fan has the same rights to see the game as an able bodied person and I am not sure the club would be able to defend their stance if challenged through a legal process. A quick letter to the FA asking them why they think it is acceptable may be worth it BK as I feel sure that it will be the FA that insist that spaces are made available for press, officials and visiting club directors etc.
As for the Spurs fan.....the only positive thing about COA is that there is a lot of free parking within 300 yards of the ground. It will be busy on Sunday but if you get there early you will be able to park at Denehurst Park or near the away turnstiles just off Wilbutts Lane. In fact you should be able to get just as close to the turnstiles as you would in a car park at a Premiership ground if you are there a couple of hours early | | | |

I too received a similar phone call. However I was also told it would be possible to be "dropped off" in the car park. Whilst not ideal for those with a disability, if correct, that should enable them (and any support they need) to not have too much distance to cover to get to their seats. Whilst not ideal for those with a disability, if correct, that should enable them (and any support they need) to not have too much distance to cover to get to their seats.
