What a shambles of a morning from England
Started well enough but then we let the events of Saturday evening get into our heads, when Anderson was peppered with bouncers. Lost our discipline trying to do the same, with the result that their tailenders score career-bests at getting on for 5 an over
A run chase is now out of the question, just survival

It's a shame that Hameed sort of got stuck, but I suppose both openers have done their job and the stroke players have a platform to play rather rather than Bairstow coming in at 33-3. |  | | |

He. was a summariser on BBC test match coverage in the 1970s with Peter West his ‘straight man’.
He was great until lunch time…after which he was less than sober for the rest of the day. One match against India I think there was discussion about whether one of Indias bowlers was chucking. By tea time Ted had decided the entire Indian bowling line up were all chuckers!

Agreed, a real shame Lancs let him go in the manner they did, but good to see they've learnt their lesson with Alex Davies... or not.
Speaking of Lancs, a real disappointing effort last night at Taunton. Probably 20 or so short with the bat in the first place but then desperately missed Mahmood and Wood's pace. Need to learn to be good enough to win at least 2 or 3 on the road as well next year so we can set up a home QF. | |
