They’re tweeting that their “matchday operations” are being restricted for the home game against Barrow on Sunday for reasons that they don’t want to divulge at the moment.
The bottom line is that the crowd capacity is limited to 920 and there will be no cash admissions on the day.
Wonder what that’s all about?

Is this Andy chap really trying to portray Curran and Co as good honest salt of the earth folk who just want to 'invest' in a lower league football club for philanthropic reasons?

He hasn't got a clue. In more ways than one. Looked like he'd been on the BBQ himself, before putting those less than appetising looking sausages and unmarinated chicken lumps on the BBQ. They say ignorance is bliss?

Makes you wonder if there is no smoke without fire with regards to speculation a little while ago that a couple of the current Hornets board had been in contact with Martin Halsall/Morton House when Bottomley was hawking the club around?

"...had been in contact..."

And still is?

"Why are individuals who simply tried to invest and buy shares in a football club now taking legal action over wrong doing over alleged irregularities by current AFC Chair / board?"

Is he talking abut the entity of Morton House or specific individuals?

Morton House in the guise of Messrs Curran & Rose is no longer and they have not been involved in any legal case.

It was reported in the Athletic article of March:

"Court papers say Southall and former chief executive David Bottomley had applications to purchase shares rejected by the club, along with Oliver Upton and Mark Jones, two associates of Southall."

Would anyone connected with the club object to Southall and Bottomley, together with Southall's associates, application to buy shares being rejected, as is the absolute right of the board of Directors to do so?

Are these individuals the ones referenced as taking legal action?

R17 will confirm or deny, but David Clough's estate was to be used for the benefit of "AFC" fans.

Correct.

This sentence is complete fabrication....

"Is it reasonable to stop the club using the scoreboard or make them pay extra to use it? A scoreboard a supporter of both clubs over the years funded let’s not forget."

The author of this sentence did not know Cloughie, nor did he know that Cloughie held Hornets in disdain ever since a former Chairman no less, pressured Cloughie into converting all his Goldbond members into becoming Saturday Yankee members.

Cloughie was so horrified he rang me immediately to report the attempted coup and the language he used to describe Hornets was colourful to say the least.

I recall in conversation not long before he passed, that his wish was for the scoreboard to create revenue for Dale from advertising and "charging them rugby bastards to use it".

So, if the author could completely make up such nonsense, one can only conclude he must be full of shit.

Even the fact Andy Hornet has dragged Cloughie into his pathetic digs is a disgrace. Awful human being.

Have you seen the post by their Tyrone Shoelaces:

"I first smelt a rat when I attended the joint book launch at the club. One of the football guys ( Mark Hodkinson ? ) was promoting his latest book and Jim Stringer and Mark Wynn were there to promote their history of Hornets. There was a guy representing the football club who I think was a director. His demeanour was one of a person who was waiting to be taken out to be shot ! The vibes he gave off was that he would have liked to have been anywhere else in the world than in that room with Hornets people."

I was at the same event and the Director he refers to was the only Director of either club in attendance.

It was Simon, who I saw to be smiling, laughing and generally enjoying the event.

Mark and Jim clearly went back years as friends.

The Hornets history book was not available to buy in their club shop.

Hornets and Dale fans mingled without any edge or threat of malice and all 3 writers were funny and insightful.

What is he/she trying to achieve by posting that?

In the early days of my business career, I was given a piece of advice that I have never forgotten... " the most important clause in any contract is the exit clause". Its easy signing a contract that, in the here and now, looks fine, but if you can't get out when things change, its a bad deal. Things have changed at the COA, a small, weak, leaderless Board has been replaced by a larger group of much more professional people who stepped up when the whole edifice could have collapsed. Rightly they have assessed all the existing contracts, suppliers, sub-lets, leases etc etc. Things have changed, they had to. Noses may have been put out of joint, tough! Bad deals may have been re-written, good, so they should be and if the days of cozy deals, you scratch my back...etc. have come to an end there are nearly 600 shareholders who should be cheering.
For too long, too many people have taken this football club for granted. They think we are an easy push-over, run by ignorant " nancy boys" and that they have little idea about how the world works. Well, the wind of change is blowing a gale in and around the stadium there are adults in charge.....check the contract and read what is actually in it, not what you think, hope or imagine is in it, then either like it, lump it, or see what the exit clause says. .

He/she is trying to sow division into a group of people who are closely knit in our determination to preserve The Dale against shysters.

His goal is to get us falling out with each other and into the midst there might be a prize* to snatch which could benefit the egg chasers.

He's obviously a new comer to these parts as I suspect we've seen off far bigger and better than a tinpot rugby fan.

100% correct. RAFC, from the boardroom to fans and shareholders, we have proven over the past year or so to all comers that we are absolutely united in the cause to defend, protect and promote our club now, and for generations to come. We're bloody good at it as well.

A liar from the Hornets side, spewing nonsense, influences nobody apart from 5 forum cretins in the Hornets fan base who cream themselves over his/her/their every word. It is utterly insignificant in every way, shape or form.

Let the tiny keyboard warrior play with him/her/themselves.

I feel sorry for the proper, decent, Hornets fans who are being shamed by a spectacularly pathetic online lying troll. Get yourselves organised Hornets fans and get this notright out of your club.

You will regret it otherwise.

That’s easy to say but given he bought the entire organisation for less than the membership fee of the supporters organisation there is little they can do…other than stay away…which they have been doing in droves.

They have been meaning about capacity restrictions then as soon as they are lifted for a top of the table local derby they respond by giving away tickets for free.

Not sure which business school he learnt that from.

Seem to recall Hornets not allowing us to use their scoreboard, that they paid for, at the time, either.
That was, probably, the only tangible thing that materialised from the "Morisson's money". An amount that should have seen Hornet's establish themselves for the long term, instead of "disappearing" as it so evidently did (in my eyes at least)..

The worm of time turns not for the cuckoo of circumstance.

I don't necessarily disagree with the need to create an atmosphere if they need a big win to stay in the promotion hunt. Free tickets fills seats. A better deal might be cheap adult tickets. But they are trying some of the things we have asked for at Dale over the years.

But they haven't just suddenly been able to use the whole stand because our chairman wants to be generous. They have clearly agreed to meet the terms of their lease and I assume pay for extra capacity, turnstiles, stewards etc. If that was the issue all along he should have the balls to say so and stop blaming everybody else. All it has done is reawaken old animosities that could have been avoided. It wasn't that long ago that the 'AFC' was adverising Hornets games on the tannoy to encourage Daleys to support them despite them leaving the 'AFC' in the doggies do dah when they went under. Andy (The Hornet) won't understand any of that because he wasn't around. Why try to make enemies of the hand that helped you? Unless of course you want to convince fans that it is time to leave Spotland for Balderstone.

I believe the new club setting up at Balderstone and being supplied with kit by Hornets will be called East Ward Rangers.

'The Hornet' (for irony purposes note the username, not his real name) has thrown a proper wobbly this lunchtime.

"What a cesspit that forum is...

A gathering of Internet trolls, keyboard warriors, and truly deluded fantasists hiding behind usernames and peddling rubbish in desperate hope if they type something enough times it might actually be true or people might even believe it 🤣

Had a quick skim over the recent bile this morning......pretty amusing really as they are the main protagonists are clearly rattled. That Kel who got booted from here for trolling is still at it and seems obsessed with our Chairman. The copy and paste kid RAFC Blue (sounds like a dodgy 70's porno) cutting and pasting historic links but clearly knows nothing about RL or Hornets and his making things up. Makes you wonder how some of these find the time to have a real life 🤣

Noticeable how they all seem to skirt over the shameful facts about the way their club is treating Hornets and the damage being caused and just simply revert to type and divert to character assassinating anyone who stands up for our club most notably our Chairman.

Real low life people not willing to disclose who they are on forums where they can be put straight, but are big an brave behind a keyboard."
