They’re tweeting that their “matchday operations” are being restricted for the home game against Barrow on Sunday for reasons that they don’t want to divulge at the moment.
The bottom line is that the crowd capacity is limited to 920 and there will be no cash admissions on the day.

Probably falls under the same arrangements as the scoreboard, the costs of providing a car park attendant is something that is not being covered.

I think the provision of free parking is to be applauded by all concerned.
It just an extra cost that puts people off coming and especially in these high inflationary times.
You can park for free on all of the streets around the ground so why not at the ground?
Hornets article says that Stadium capacity is limited to 920 including hospitality, press, and guests areas.
You'd think that 920 will be more than enough capacity given visitors from Colywn Bay. What will the crowd be? 400? |

It’s a long way to come to get turned away. Games against Oldham and Swinton will exceed that limit so it needs sorting out asap.

So have supporters at Hornets asked the club what the situation is? Is there a supporters club/trust that can ask them for clarity?
Football gates are lower because of the results. As it ever was. Is it a concern? Yes. But this season we have seen games like Tranmere, where after a decent run we had 3400 home supporters turn up. As recently as Barrow two weeks ago there were 2300 Dale fans despite the poor form. Since then results have been worse and the two Tuesday gates have been as low as expected, though they still should be seen as disappointing and a high priority.
Out of interest, when were the last five games where there were over 2000 home supporters at a Hornets game?

I've referred previously to the imminent vote by Rochdale Council on supporting (or otherwise) the Fair Game initiative which will add weight to the legislation being proposed for reform of the governance of football
Its obviously very much in Dale's interests to have rigorous legislation in place to prevent any future hostile takeovers; indeed, of any club. From a purely pragmatic point of view, our board must be seen to be playing fair with Hornets. I'd be extremely surprised if they weren't... but perceptions matter
Perhaps the Dale Trust, through its representative on the board, might wish to allay any misperceptions? It really does matter, and we really do need the Council to be onside both now, and in the future

"Hi Kev, you know how transparent myself and this board are however in this case we wont air the dirty linen in public. We are working to resolve issues not of our making professionally & privately and will update when able. We apologise for any inconvenience. Cheers Andy"
So they claim it is not of their making and the "dirty linen" reference suggests a significant dispute. Our chairman said they would be looking forensically at all costs at the stadium. Maybe that involves costing up each element of the provision of a hornets game - everything has a cost and a price to the user. With cost inflation as it is, users have to pay. The only way Hornets will average 2000 these days is if they get promoted and entertain the likes of Bradford, Widnes, Leigh and Halifax. Teams with a decent away following.

Here is a thought......Maybe the RL club are up to speed on all payments and agreements and aren't doing anything different to what they have for the past 6/7 years under the current contractual arrangements ?
Maybe our current administration are getting desperate? Maybe they are realising football is an expensive business and a place in a football boardroom comes at a price? Maybe just maybe the RL club has done nothing wrong and we are trying to screw a customer and community partner as we are skint and desperate? Now i do not know but just imagine???......
All i would say in terms of direction of travel the RL club seems to be doing alright in difficult circumstances and good luck to them.
But and its a but as i am surmising but if we are going to preach about being a true fans / community club and wish to be a pillar of the community then maybe we should make sure we try and endear ourselves to that very same community and council and treat people how we would wish to be treated?
