Echo the above that if he doesn't want to be here then no option, but to be fair to the lad he could just be reasoning that he doesn't want to play another season in L2. Let's face it, he is good enough to play at a higher level and he did state when he joined us that he wanted to get back up there.

I don't get that at all. Whether he likes it or not at the moment he is a league 2 standard player because of his disciplinary problems and the baggage that comes with him. Hill however was working well to eradicate that side to his game. There could be other reasons for him requesting a move but if its to try and aid his career I think he's making a mistake. |  | | |

Looks like he's been tapped by another manager, probably at L1 level, and maybe nearer his native city ....
A 23-year old (come 1 July - many happy returns, Bobby) who scored 18 goals last season (including 2 for Scunthorpe) is an attractive target. True, there's a risk he'll start with a lengthy ban, but another club might reason he'll be acquitted and that meanwhile the court case would make Dale more likely to settle for a smaller fee.

I have always found it quite hard to adhere myself to him, he just doesn't seem a Hill type player. If he merely thinks he's better than he is a deserves a higher league club, then best of luck to him, he could have been badly advised. | |

Need to get a decent fee here. Given he was 1 booking away from another suspension for last 2 months of the season he had to curb his play slightly. Prior to that he was different class. without him Hill would have inherited a side in the bottom 2 or 3 not just below mid-table.
Hard but not impossible to replace. If he had left next Summer he could have gone for nothing so unless we were planning to extend his contract we have to sell now or January or take a loss. Impending court case will not help us but if a club is signing him on a 3 year contract it is probably not so important as for a 1 year contract.
Would doubt he has fallen out with Hill, or is just upset with club for getting rid of Coleman so I think his agent has probably had an offer from a L1 club. Despite his spell at Scunthorpe I think he can comfortably play at a higher level than L2. | | | |

Very disappointed with this, we will be losing one of our better players. Stupid decision in my opinion, god only knows what makes him think that being part of a John Coleman Rochdale team is better for his career than being part of Keith Hill’s.
Whilst I admire his talent of a player, his attitude has often come into question (needless red cards, questionable effort in some games). No doubt his ‘I’m big time’ attitude is the main reason behind this request.
We ALWAYS say this but we NEED to make sure we get a decent transfer fee for this player. He’s only 22 and has got undoubted ability. Even if it means he has to sit in the reserves for a few months then so be it. I will be extremely disappointed if we let such a good player go for absolutely nothing.
