Notts County are delighted to announce that the club are no longer under the watchful eye of Her Majesty's Revenue & Customs (HMRC). Having paid all outstanding money owing to HMRC earlier in the close season, Finance Director, Jason Brewer, received official confirmation of an end to the case brought against the club via email this morning. Chairman Ray Trew said of the news: "The debt to HMRC has been a dark cloud hanging over Notts County since we arrived back in February and we are delighted to be able to close another sorry chapter in the club's recent past. "Having paid the debt to HMRC, we were just awaiting official clearance from them that we were no long under debt management," he explained. "Today's announcement marks another huge step in the right direction for Notts County Football Club. "With the new season fast approaching, this is exactly the kind of news that we want to hear and I hope that it serves as further reassurance for the fans of our commitment towards moving this club forwards." |
