If we had dispensed with the services of Ralph rather than Oriol at the start of the 22/23 season we wouldn’t have been relegated in the first place. As for Lallana and Ings they are two injury prone has beens .Both left us for money when it suited them. Personally, I would rather see us relegated from The Premiership again than see either of them in a Saints shirt once more. |

Russell Martin changed the way we played because of one reason and one reason only, Bazunu picked up an injury that finished his season. From that moment on he realised that McCarthy was incapable of playing tippy tappy and acting as a sweeper outside of his area. As I posted at the time Bazunu’s injury was a blessing in disguise because it meant that we at last had a proper experienced keeper. Not the best in the world but light years better than Bazunu will ever be. I’d go as far to suggest that had Bazunu remained between the sticks we would have not made it to Wembley and would now be looking forward to another Championship season. |

I can’t help but imagine that it was probably “ bugger” in the fashion of Captain Darling writing in his diary on the way to the front for the big push in the last episode of Blackadder. Seriously had he stayed, this morning he could have still been captain of S F C and have cemented his reputation in the history of the club in the fashion of Matt. Instead, this mornings he is undoubtedly richer monetarily, still no nearer an England place and I will venture to suggest perhaps a little sad. |

You are absolutely correct Grim. Call it a Manifesto, call it a plan, in truth it makes no difference. In practice only the party that wins an election can implement their plan. Now, unless I’ve missed something the only party to be in power for the last 14 years have been the Tories. That being the case, it was down to them to reduce Immigration if they wanted to, particularly given that less than five years ago the public gave them an 80 seat Parliamentary majority. Outcome ? Total legal Immigration has substantially increased during the Tories period in office. Why ? Because they know full well that given the UK’s long term declining birth rate our economy cannot function properly without Immigration. Particularly in the areas of the N H S and Social Care. Unfortunately Immigration is a wedge issue, smoke and mirrors subject, used by a particular group of politicians in an effort to shore up the votes of a cohort of old to very old aged people who are in many instances simply colour prejudiced. |

Tony Blair sought your forgiveness saint901 ? Funny, but I don’t recall reading that in his book, must have missed it, which chapter was it in? |

I’m a little uncertain as to whether you understand how an election campaign works saint901, perhaps you haven’t had an interest in many in previous years ? What tends to happen is that Political Parties of all colours put their proposals (should they be elected) into a document entitled a Manifesto. Such action by them makes it very easy indeed for interested voters such as yourself to find answers to questions such as the one you have raised. Bearing in mind that the election was only called yesterday I doubt that any Manifestos have been published yet. So you will no doubt appreciate that you will need to be patient for a little longer before you are in receipt of the information you have requested. |

“ I’m not doing too badly so reasonably happy the way it’s gone”. So kingslandstand 1, you are able to get a doctor appointment when you need it, have ready access to an N H S dentist and don’t have any relatives waiting months in pain for routine surgery ? I imagine also that your home is mortgage free, thus safe from increased interest rate payments and your car is immune from damage caused by enormous untreated pot holes ? If all or any of the above are correct, you do indeed have every reason to be happy. I suspect however that after the last Fourteen years of the current Government there are many others who are not so blessed. On the subject of football, let's all hope that our players are not stood in the pouring rain on Sunday looking defeated as Mr Sunak appeared just after 5 O’clock this afternoon. |

Don’t make a worry of it Chesham, there’s every chance that in the not too distant future Mr Sunak will attend at St Mary’s and remain completely anonymous. Mind you it’s going to be one hell of a commute for him from Southern California. |
| Forum Thread | When are some of these cover up merchants going to be brought to justice ? at 21:49 20 May 2024
A few weeks back it was people in authority being found out ruining Post Office managers lives by covering up known failings in their own computer system. Today it’s people in authority being found out covering up known failings in the N H S in respect of administering contaminated blood. Is it not beyond the realms of possibility that the police investigate these people, gather evidence and refer them for prosecution or has their appalling behaviour become acceptable nowadays ? |

Bazunu ( who is a very poor goalkeeper in any event ) will not be fit for the start of the new season and McCarthy will be out of contract and we miss a golden opportunity. Utterly bizarre. |

Another question for you S F C if you would be so kind. I understand that refs in The Premiership get paid, what is their salary and are they allowed any other form of paying employment ? Same question in regard to Championship officials please. |
| Forum Reply | Looks as if Adams is on his way out to Wolves at 15:00 18 May 2024
I don’t imagine he will play at Wembley either. He will perhaps feign injury so as to be able to collect a massive signing on fee when transferred to Wolves in the close season. |
| Forum Reply | Ref at 14:52 18 May 2024
Yet another truly awful official completely consistent with most of the others seen at St Mary’s this season. If indeed you are a referee S F C perhaps you can answer a simple question for me ? Last evening the referee ran the game by consistently ploughing a furrow through the middle of the pitch. Aren’t they taught to run the diagonal anymore? |
| Forum Reply | Looks as if Adams is on his way out to Wolves at 20:44 16 May 2024
Didn’t play in the Playoff first leg against W B A and given that a move to Wolves may be a done deal I can’t see him taking any further part in our season. He won’t want to play and risk an injury which would scupper his move and in any event he’s a free agent in a few days, so effectively S F C have no further control of the situation. If I am correct all I ask is that his place is not taken again by Mara, |
