There seems to be little dispute in the facts of this case on either side. Evans' continued protestation of innocence seems to be down to the fact that in doing what he did, he feels he wasn't guilty of a crime, and that for me is the crux of the whole matter. Just what I was thinking EB. Some footballers are not very bright, and Evans isn't the sharpest pencil in the box. It must be clear to him a lot of fans don't want him at their club. So he should seriously think about going abroad.
One club I think would be right for him would be FC Tighina , in Bender, Moldova. They are in the second division of the Moldovan league. So it would be a step up for him. And no one would know who the fcuk he is. [Post edited 14 Nov 2014 19:43]

The decision about whether he plays football should rest with the FA and NOT the club. It is down to the FA to set the standards for the league and not leave it up to the club's or other organisations to say whether he is or is not allowed to play football.
Do other leagues do it - NFL does and they issue lifetime bans for players that commit spousal abuse. NBA, owner of the LA Clippers was banned from being an owner due to his racist comments. There is no appeal allowed from the teams and their seasons are over before they have started if their top players (Peterson - Minnesota Vikings, Rice - Baltimore Ravens) suffer the ban therefore placing the onus on club's to assist in the players conduct both on and off the pitch.
The attraction for Sheff U is purely financial in that they are re-signing a guy on £10k a week as opposed o the £20k a week he was earning prior to his conviction. | | | |
