O'sullivan definitely didn't show any potential in a Dale shirt IMO

Agreed on O'Sullivan. One of the least successful loan spells in an awful long time.

Accy most likely for O'sullivan as he's been there all this year and Coleman seems to like him.

Got a feeling he'll fit in with a Coleman team tbh.

He also didn't show any potential on any of his visits to Rochdale since leaving. Really don't know why he was so highly rated. Hery is a funny one obviously got skill and ability but doesn't seem to grasp the game when he hasn't got the ball. I think Hilly probably got the best out of him and that wasn't good enough in the end unfortunately.

It could be argued that the high point of his career (unless it's resurrected somewhere) would be his performance at Anfield for Carlisle in a cup game. Highlights showed him tearing holes in the Liverpool defence, and it was a strong side. So much wasted potential.

I think it was a more a case of 'unnecessary' rather than 'bad'.

A, what can only be described as, utterly stupid signing. Stupid because he was signed on the basis of his family name, and that's it. He was nowhere near to being the standard of a professional footballer in this country. Eyre may as well have signed a local Saturday/Sunday league striker who bags regularly despite being sick at half time. I think many of us have understandably expunged this from our collective memory. One day though we will collectively go hang on did that actually happen, did we really sign Bergkamp's nephew? At least George Weah's cousin wasn't actually his cousin. Bizarre, absolutely bizarre. AC Milan wanted Marc Twaddle you know, fookin hell and thank fook for Keith Hill. So many names...so little talent! It's funny how only the really awful ones stay in the memory.

That is one incredible amount of shit, and I've only looked at Eyre's list! I'd forgotten how many players he actually brought in in the short space of time he was here. Crazy. I'm struggling to count many good ones. Kevin Long, Peter Kurucz, David Ball, Phil Edwards. I'm pushing it with the last two! Harry Bunn and Stephen Darby went on to do quite well with other clubs, but with us they were the epitome of averageness.

Chris Beech brought Kurucz in and Long and Edwards were recruited by Coleman. [Post edited 19 Jan 2017 7:13]
