Info for this Saturday about parking, drinking and protests
at 08:51 18 Oct 2016

Hi all. CJ here from the Sky Blue Trust. I come in peace and all the usual stuff. Firstly great chippy at your place! I know this is a long piece but if anything please just read the second half about the protest! :-)

The Ricoh car parks have just increased in price to £10 (robbing barstewards) and there are plenty of places to park that's cheaper nearby. Coventry Welsh RFC on Burbages Lane which is a few minutes walk from the ground is a fiver. Please note Burbages is blocked off half way for traffic (fine to walk it) so from the Ricoh Island head up Winding House Lane, right at the cross roads onto Wheelwright Lane and then right onto Burbages. There's also a junior football club (the name escapes me) on Winding House Lane near the cross roads with Wheelwright Lane that is also a fiver. Another option is The Bull and Anchor on Wheelwright Lane. It's around 50 yards further up the road than the Burbages turning. If you get there early enough it's free. It's a Hungry Horse too so decent pub grub and maybe a real ales.

Away fans are more than welcome in the Casino which is built into the Ricoh. Over 18s only obviously and you may need ID if you're lucky to look young, like me :-). No restrictions on clothing (I wear shorts all year round and many wear club shirts in there. Drinks drop to pub prices on match days and there's a match day menu where sausage, pie, burger, vegiburger and chips is about a fiver. Nice too!

It often says you can not buy a ticket on the day at our ground however I don't think there has been any game this season where you couldn't. Might just be a coincidence but there's booking fees to pay due to the arrangement with Ticketmaster that can't be enforced on the gate! Obviously there's no guarantee but as I said no other set of supporters have had any problems so far.

Now you may have all seen the events from Saturday from the Valley. The atmosphere is toxic atm around our club due to the unbelievably poor ownership of SISU capital, a hedge fund led by Joy Seppala and our out of touch and much hated chairman Tim Fisher. I could go on for hours about what they've done but it's best to Google 'SISU David Conn Guardian' or 'SISU Simon Gilbert Coventry Telegraph' to get the full picture.

This Saturday there is a protest march leaving at 2pm from Holbrook Park to the Jimmy Hill Statue at the Ricoh. Everyone is welcome to either join us on the march or to meet us at Jimmy Hill (right next to the ticket office and casino) when we arrive there. I'll be more that happy to meet a group of you at or near the Ricoh (Bull and Anchor, Cov Welsh, etc) around 1.00 if you wish to join in so I can show you the way to the starting point. Don't be afraid to wear your colours, in fact I would encourage you to do so. Please just be aware that it's just under a mile/15-20 minutes. If anyone wants to vent at the way how certain individuals are ruining our once great club (hard to believe now but yeah we were honest!) or just how football needs rid of these people (Oyston, Roland, etc) then please feel free to join in in some way. When SISU moved us out of Coventry we were expecting a few hundred to turn up to a march like this. It ended up being 8000! No idea how many this time so we're keeping an open mind.

Afterwards some fans are staying at Jimmy Hill to either miss the first few minutes or the full game. I've said personally to our fans that if they want to boycott, don't go in. If they don't, go on in. It's all down to personal choice. What I would say though is you are travelling a distance and your club & team deserves your support so I would rather if you went in.

During the game "We want SISU out" etc will be sang. Feel free to join in!

If any individual, your supporters Trust or any other fan group want to get involved please email me joinercj@gmail.com or DM (they're open) on Twitter.

Anyway thanks for reading my essay! Any help with any of the above will be greatly appreciated.
