Leigh-based referee Karl Evans will take charge of only his second Dale match on Saturday when we wrap up our home season against Burton. Mr Evans is in his third season on the league list and the only previous time he has refereed Dale was for our 2-0 win at Wrexham on Boxing Day 2007.
However, he was fourth official for our Sky game at bury in February.
Karl is one of those referees who tends to officiate at non-descript fixtures, although he was awarded the Port Vale v Notts County match last weekend.
He has, however, refereed Burton previously this term, as he was in the middle for their FA Cup first round defeat of Oxford City.
That was one of 24 matches he has taken charge of this season, with those games yielding 73 yellow cards and three red.
