Interview with an Argyle fan
Friday, 23rd Aug 2013 15:27 by Col

It's Plymouth v Dale this Saturday, and to help with the build up, we've grabbed an Argyle fan and fired a load of questions at him.

1) Who are you and how long have you supported Argyle? I’m Charlie Rose, editor of http://crmedia1992.blogspot.co.uk/ and have been supporting Argyle for 7 years

2) What makes supporting Argyle different from supporting any other club? The fact that we have to travel such a great distance to an away game really shows the passion in our fanbase

3) Sheridan has tended to start well at clubs before it goes pear shaped. What's the Greens' views on him so far? Decent level-headed, realistic manager. He will do us well I think

4) The back end of last season must have been pretty nervy for your lot. Was there ever a real worry about relegation? Course there was, but on the final day up at your place, we were more than certain we would stay up

5) How does a side go from being so close to the drop to having a successful season? Several key factors; the right players, a realistic manager, a chairman who won't panic over a loss or two, and mainly stability within the running of the club and the team. If we lose a game, Sheridan wouldn't panic. He would assess where we went wrong and try to fix those issues in training.

6) You've got a couple of our old boys in defence. How's Trotman and Branston doing for you? I feel Branston has done us well. He's the defender where if he gets the ball, he just hoofs it as hard as he can back up the pitch. That's what I like, a no nonsense defender. Trotman, from what I've seen has been well, but it's very early days, and he can either do well or become a liability.

7) We've got a couple of ex Argyle types in the form of Keith Hill and George Donnelly. Any thoughts from their time with you? To be honest, I never saw Keith Hill as I was very young at that point, Donnelly however has only played for us twice, so I can't really comment on a player who I have seen twice and it was a long time ago.

8) Was there any dissent amongst your support when you signed Lee McCormick? When your club signs such a controversial player there is always going to be some fans who disagree with other, but now the season has started we only judge him on his football ability and not his personal life.

9) Who's the big threat going to be for us this weekend? To be honest, I wouldn't say we have a big threat. I mean, Morgan MIGHT be but to be honest I have no idea. We have two good keepers and the rest of the squad are very 50/50. Reuben Reid will not cause you any problems though so if you're going to put a player on him, don't waste that defender.

10) Predictions for the game and the season ahead? 1-0 Argyle, Alessandra to score and to be honest, I change where we will finish every day. I'd say 17th place. I just don't want another relegation battle.
