Former Dale boss Paul SImpson is back in football after being appointed as first team coach at Championship side Derby County.

Following the sacking of Nigel Clough at the weekend, Derby have acted quickly to appoint former England boss Steve McClaren as their new manager with Simmo returning to the club as first team coach.

He spent five very successful years with the Rams as a player, scoring nearly sixty goals for the club in over two hundred first team appearances.

Simpson has not been involved in management after leaving Stockport in their relegation season from the football league.
