Whilst all eyes were on events at Griffin Park, Dale sneaked a permanent transfer under the radar with the full signing of Mark Kitching from Middlesboro.

The 21 year old made his debut for Dale in Saturday's cup defeat to Huddersfield after joining on loan on the Friday, but that switch has been made a permanent fixture late on transfer deadline day.

He has signed an 18 month deal with the club and there's been no suggestion of any transfer fee being involved. He was singled out for praise in the Huddersfield defeat by Keith Hill.
