McGahey goes to Scunny Friday, 4th Jan 2019 13:56 by Col As has been rumoured for the last couple of weeks, Harrison McGahey has signed for fellow League One side Scunthorpe United. McGahey had been a popular player during his time at the club since signing from Sheffield United. The central defender had a wobbly start when he first arrived but has been a regular in the first team for the past couple of seasons chalking up over a hundred appearances for the club during that time. He won the Most Improved Young Player of the Year last season. In joining the Glanford Park club, he has signed a contract with them that will last until the Summer of 2021. He will join up with former Dale players Matt Gilks, Matt Lund and Rory McArdle. This takes the number of departures from Spotland this week to four following the exits of Sam Hart, Andy Cannon, and Brendan Moore.
