Why can't the club just once, just ONCE, turn round to the supporter and offer them a real gesture of good will and thank us for our loyal support.

£15 for a kick about in the sun...

And I don't care if every other club in England is doing it. It would be nice if our club had a different mentality when it came to its supporters.

Have they forgotten how many times they have messed up in the past - The Euro games for example.

They must be due another dividend soon i'd imagine.

Pathetic, Swansea City, pathetic.

You're all out of time....the past was yours but the future's mine.

Let us not forget that they have spent 15 million on training facilities. My feeling is they didnt have the money to do both without damaging the strength of the team. We have been in the prem only 3 years.

Bugger off, Shaky. The grown ups are talking.

Lisa is not the only one fed up of your bullying.

Bullying you am I? Ha.

The truth is that you, Uxbridge, and LyingLisa continuously try to take me down, but when I invariably turn the tables on you and expose your own glaring lack of knowledge and experience, you bring out the onions and start playing for sympathy.

Lisa's most recent poor little girl pleadings were particularly laughable.

You can dish it out, but you can't take it. Pathetic little know-nothing wannabes the bunch of you.

They did start last year with £250,000 towards away travel. I presume they will do similar this season. I note £15 off if you go away to man u and man c.

That was a PL directive though. I'd like to see us taking the lead.

I wouldn't have a clue what any of the staff are on down there. I'm surprised you do. What are the commercial revenues now do you know compared to three years ago. If there are significant increases then you might say yes. I am struggling to see what that has to do with the capital outlay on the training facilities and whether we have the money to build an extension.

We are shortly to embark on another season at the top of the pile.
We have rid ourselves of a clearly languid dead from the neck up disinterested manager and replaced him with a man who cares.
The new manager has binned the dross and seems to have replaced with quality.
We rely on match day revenue more than most as we don't have backers with millions

Yet...some fans with consulate self importance are more interested in slagging off other fans who see things differently. That concerned then invest your money and//or. Get on the board but don't cowardly rip into people who have put us where we are. If these people get poised off and walk away will their detractors take over..

Finally I don't a monkeys how much money our directors make but I hope it's substantial

The Commercial Director IS a Board Member. And a shareholder.

- Are you happy with the 3 for 3 bargain ticket bungled bundle recently?
- Are you happy that the club forget to mention (and still doesn't) that the new shirts are a size smaller than the last 101 years?
- Are you happy with the ticket office and ordering of tickets?
- Are you happy that we launched a new ticketing system and didn't test it properly before launching?
Blah, blah, blah.

For 100k a year plus, there really should surely be some accountability. That's a lot of money for someone living in Swansea (or Port Talbot).

My guess is that investors apart from the very muti millionaires do it for the spin offs that football brings. As we don't own our ground there is very little money to be made outside of football itself

Clive, you are correct no doubt and that fact alone restricts us and one of the reasons we must sustain our progress by generating revenue.

It depends how hungry the people of west wales are .lets face it, Swansea City FCC is without doubt the biggest feature the only real thing that places Swansea on the map.without it, backwater ain't the word.
We ve seen and are seeing massive investment and increased price in Cardiff while Swansea is simply left to its own devices.swansea City football club for the city, whether people like it or not is massive and we should all accept that fact and build on it.

A money man/ men could /would have a new ground built and in the future it could happen

So who is this chap then Nick and how long has he been on board and how long a shareholder?

The word accountability doesn't seem to mean anything at the club. Season on season the same mistakes keep getting made; the same fury or fuss is kicked up and short of half arsed slightly apologetic retractions nothing gets better, nothing gets learned from.

Chris, are you joking when you ask who he is? I'm not being sarcastic.

I believe it's like this because we were a club that was transforming quickly.

Our rise from bottom to top was so fast. There's a story about the Premier League officials visiting the club just after we'd been promoted to explain everything they need to do to comply with PL rules (digital perimeter advertising, media areas, etc). The club had around 20 people in the meeting. One of the PL people said something like "wow, this is an impressively sized marketing team" but they didn't realise that that was the WHOLE of the back-office and support team!

As we've grown so quickly and as the money was so tight (with every penny going on the first team), many people multi-tasked. They wore many hats and did many jobs to the very best of their abilities.

Once we got to a size and had revenue to justify specialised roles, the Club appointed who they thought best from within, which I understand. I think that, in an ideal world, the Club would have interviewed externally and compared the pros and cons, but I am definitely not against the club thinking "you were here when we needed you, so you get the chance to do a good job". It's yours to lose, sort of thing.

The ability to deliver SUCCESSFULLY is the key. Small cock-ups happen at every level at every company. From Proctor & Gamble to ManUtd and Real Madrid. That's life.

What bugs me is that we're getting the same mistakes, same lack of creativity, same ignorance and growing lack of respect for the fans.

What worries me the most though is that the decisions that are made without the real understanding of the real situation amongst most Swansea City fans. Swansea and the surrounding areas are relatively poor and I would hate to see The Swans as being a team that only the richer can afford. Making the fans renew season tickets at Christmas time (or lose their ticket) is scandalous. There are so many examples and the recent article claiming success of the "3 for the price of 3" bundle bungle makes my blood boil. You ask the guy on the street, with a wife and 2 kids, if he can afford to pay FULLY for three games IN ADVANCE with a good chance one of the games will be changed for the TV. It's wrong, Chris, and makes me wonder whether the wages and dividends going into some people's banks are distancing themselves from reality.

I know for a fact (as any who reads Phil's postings here will too) that the Trust was against the Bungled Bundle, but (as exiledclase said) the Trust needs fans to know this. We also need to understand what the Trust can do to stop this in the future, or what we as fans can do to help the Trust.

The sad thing is that someone who's tight for money won't stand up and scream that he's too poor to afford it because pride gets in the way.

Once we've got 5k or more new seats, it hopefully won't be an issue, but who knows which division we will be in then?

The basics need to be done right and, in my opinion, the Trust need to be consulted more by the Club as the Trust haven't lost that important understanding of what the fans need.

Sorry for the rant but I do feel passionate about this.

Eloquent stuff NICK and some good points.
However the fact Swansea is so poor and devoid of people with money means surely that we need to maximise our income and for that we need a bigger stadium. It was small minded thinking at the time that is affecting our revenue now.
My only beef is that we should be entering this season with at least 24 000 seats and its a feck up.
It is in the genes of those who do and did run Swansea councils to think small and petty so to be where we are now is a terrific achievement in itself. Rugby as we knew it has gone as has cricket stuff we were both brought up on .

Unquestionably we are third rate commercially and our marketing makes me weep so much.

I just hope our Board is learning and listening;if they are then fine but if not then I agree they should face questioning as what they deal with (our club) is precious. Ive not met any of the board and for that not many of the trust apart from Sumb and he seems a fine chap...

Anyway, just tell Vlad to keep the feck outta Ukraine and be safe la

Small-minded at the time? We were in League 2 at the time. I thought 21k was ambitious.

Also, don't forget that the SKY money is a HUGE percentage of total revenue now, so clubs can afford to less rely on gate money to an extent.

Finally, I might be wrong but I'm sure the Council need to approve the extension and (from what I understand) it's been a bloody hard slog to agree everything with them. The Council are the ones delaying it, not SCFC.

1.YES small minded at the time. League 2 or not it was and originally it was 25k but 20k was deemed to be sufficient. Of course that was Council decision.

2. We rely on gate money more than most because we don't have backers sky notwithstanding.

3.Of course its the feckn council Im pissed off about plus ca chance meme change innit.

Talking about poor areas the County where I live has some "deprivation" as regular poison- posters remind us but football and their team is a priority ina way that it is not for too many in Swansea, which is my point. It must be a cash generator for the city, it is high profile stuff we r e about but we have a pitiful range of hotels for visItors and precious little of any cultural significance. We need as a city to take steps to ensure the place has something of interest to spend time in ,and its no good pointing out GOWER as Three Cliffs or even Rotherslade ina the middle of January is not a good place particularly.

As a club we have massive potential but we have to be pro active to expand as we must.

What would I do as a gesture to help our poor fans in a deprived area, well free/subsidised transport for all home games for people outside 15 MILES of Swansea.

I believe our council (Swansea Council) are responsible for a lot of the delays....BUT this is also a convenient distraction that the people in charge of our club are also not doing things correctly.
Anyway I've had my rant on what are actually very small things in the scheme of things. e.g programmes pies & pints.
The short of it is - this friendly is over priced - lower prices may have meant more attendees, meaning more money spent at the ground on the actual day and a better atmosphere. But what do I know.

Stop whinging and get in the real world, im happy that my lad choose to watch the Swans.
