Once they called when I was changing the plugs on my motor bike (VFR) which was an awkward bitch.
I had just removed the tank when a little voice appeared at my garage door and said "Have I caught you at a busy time" . As I turned around, I dropped a large spanner on to the said removed tank damaging it. This machine,trust me, was kept immaculate and I also banged my head on the beam above.
I did invited them into the house in a courteous manner DAVILLON would have been proud of.
When settled down I made them a cup of coffee (instant) and let rip mainly about how all religions can be toxic.
They left before the coffee had cooled.

Somebody else said i'm struggling to see what law they've broken. The fact that they maybe haven't broken any law was repeated a number of times on breakfast TV this morning. A previous poster suggested they be charged with attempted murder if the boy is found safe and well.

They haven't broken any laws. .It's the state interfering and making the rules up as it goes along when it has no right to do so. They are the parents and they know what's best for their child. Blood and the family's religion has nothing to do with this case. It is an issue about treatment options and their availability in this country.

So when the doctor told us that whatever our 9 month old son had done he had not broken his leg, he was correct was he? 
And we were wrong taking him to A&E regardless getting an x ray that clearly showed a complete long bone fracture. Because parents with no medical training whatsoever clearly DO NOT know better than medical professionals even when they know something is seriously wrong with their child?
Tell it to the medical negligence claims board. Things are not always as black and white as you present them and a child's life may depend on questioning medical opinion.
All this judgmental stuff about the JW - undoubtedly he would have needed blood for the operations the parents had already agreed to so why all the assumptions that was a problem. Also blood recovery allows use of your own blood. |  | | |

I don't agree that parents necessarily know what's best for a child with a complex medical condition but other than that, not much to disagree with there. | |

Parents have every right to withdraw their children from hospital if they believe they can get better treatment elsewhere. Parents don't need permission to take their children anywhere. The state has no business interfering, and maybe they should have been a bit more vigilant in Rotherham rather than hounding these poor people | | | |

The hospital made a complaint that the child's health was in danger, they are the experts, therefore by law both the social services who are there to protect children and the police have to act.
Whether the doctors have over-reacted to "awkward" parents is yet to be seen, equally I have had experience of determined but misinformed parents in a similar situation, it's a no win situation because they were in such a dark place and convinced that information on the internet was the saviour for their child.
There is no way that you can convince people to stop and just think about things. Equally I have come across some inept medical staff who have not shown any sympathy, diplomacy or empathy for patients.
The child should be the only concern for everybody, he seems to have been forgotten in this most recent tragedy. |  |
