Come on Trese, accusing serving Police officers of crying wolf as regards bobbies on the beat.

You know that s a relic and a sham.

Public very soon will notice the massive cuts in police budget which will radically affect most of us. Some will be delighted no doubt but for the "ordinary" family its not good at all.

Tories, Police s friends. fook right off. They con as much as Labour did and pretty much the Police are somehow going to have to manage

You dislike authority, I've grown over the years to admit we need it,
In the words of my neighbour, next time you need help son, call a hippy !

Jacks. 👍

I have no issue with authority, dont get your point about hippies, sometimes people need the help of the police, although on the odd occasion and in a certain situations a hippy might be more help.

In certain siuatiobs I agree. A good quality lentil soup made by my good mate Betty ( who claims to be a skinhead hippy ) would probably out do anything a busy copper could rustle up.

Did he play alongside another policeman when the Swans lost 8-0 ? in one game back in the day ?

I recall Mark Kendall playing in goal for the swans in Monaco, dreadfully hot day, very drunk, and the assimilation rule meant we were always on to a hammering. So we got very hammered. Kendall joined the old bill when he left the swans. Not sure if Walker played that day, David Hough may have, who I understand also joined the Swansea police.

"Starving" ? really.

Its an insult to every kid in Africa who really has nothing to eat, not even a foodbank to call into on the way to McDonalds.THE SAME KIDS WHO HAVE NO CLEAN WATER TO DRINK. The same kids who will walk 10 miles to get water, so save that crap please.

We do have a massive obesity problem and thoseseen as poor and/or deprevied will not be without what is vital to their lives. A FOOKN MOBILE PHONE.

Have a look around and reflect.

I was thinking that too.

Shimmie and I are hardly chums and I know my more surreal wind up posts get him irritated but I d wager he s a fella you could rely on in a difficult situation and its why, warts and all, today s police officers -from Inspector down anyway- get my respect.
No way would I ever join these days and ideally wished I hadn't when I did as the fall out and the price domestically can kill literally.

Frankly, I only have contempt for one profession which is well known on here.

anyway,

Ask your ex policeman friend Perch, I posted in response to him.

Now what is this ma'am thing all about in the police ? and do you employ gardeners, housekeepers etc, like people in the police I know ? [they don't seem to be underpaid been able to afford to do that]

Asked somebody that seems to suggest they are in the police a question yesterday on this thread, they come online today and direct a quote to me on the same thread but don't answer my question, they must have missed the question, surely it can have nothing to do with a policeman being rude can it ?, that would be unheard of i'm sure...........hmm
Then I re-ask the question straight after the person was online today but nothing, perhaps that person had just logged off after all if it is somebody in the police the police often claim they are very busy and we are often told they are very busy.......hmm

Trampie I don't see the issue with public servants employing gardeners and cleaners. It is job creation, that's what public spending should do. The multiplier and all that.

Not per se, but it suggests they are well paid does it not and if people in the public sector that are well paid were not so well paid but reasonably paid then perhaps more people could be employed in the public sector on a reasonable wage, eg the wealth would be shared out more equally.
Either have most people on reasonable wages or have some people on very good wages and some people working for those people as modern day servants for poor money in lots of cases.

Yeah I get what you are saying, has to be fair compensation for work. I don't know how much wealth inequality is to do with the public sector, I would suspect the private sector is the issue. In this instance it feels like you are barking up the wrong tree to me, targeting more what would be considered the middle class rather than the mega rich, which is the real problem. I believe in equality sure but everyone cannot be paid the same (I am not insinuating you are advocating this), different positions are more valuable and command more pay, that is fair, what is unfair is the gap between the top and the bottom in terms of pay.

Upthecity!

If people think that employing a cleaner for a couple of hours a week is sonehow posh they are totally out of step with the modern world of long hours, dual income to afford your own home and generally not having time to fart...

If people are working a 48 hour week dealing with all manner of society's horrors plus travelling time of an hour or more each way you try coming hone late at and having the energy to put the hoover round or scrub the bath...

A cleaner costs less than a few pints down the pub. Hardly buying a f##ing yacht is it....?

You re suffering from selective reading trampie and this could be your problem, ie posting total shuite which you believe to be right.

SHIMMIE AND I ARE HARDLY FRIENDS. In fact we ve crossed swords a few timeson here.

We did the same jobs albeit200 mles away and at the sharpest of ends.

To equate police conditions with kids that really are "starving", ie NO FOOD AT ALL-NOT A FOODBANK IN SIGHT is pretty sickening and negates all the socialist brotherhood claptrap you ve posted for any weeks.

Ands you wonder why people in Swansea particularly do ot vote plaid.

Society pays the middle classes in the public sector what it chooses, the mega rich are often in the private sector owning companies or having inherited wealth, Governments can more easily control what people earn in the public sector.
