Last season The Foxes were in the shit, on a slippery slope back to the Championship. The light switched on and the realisation set in with their fans.
The King Power suddenly became a fortress, the fans created a vibrant and intimating atmosphere and it became a place where teams dreaded to visit.
The atmosphere created by the fans had a huge influence in keeping their team up. It was them against us. That mentality has carried on to this season.
Will our fans wake up and smell the coffee soon or will we just slumber into Championship without a fight?
Sorry but having supported our club since the late 70s, the latter is not the traditional 'Swansea Way'

Like you id love to see the Liberty turn into a fortress of passion but I do worry our fan base has changed so much it's simply unable to generate an intimating atmosphere. I live away and don't have season ticket and go to more away than home matches but when at Lib tend to get odd tickets in all parts of the stadium. Other than in NEast I and my sons typically get frowned on for shouting support or get songs going. It's not an age think as like you I've been following swans since 70's but sadly large chunks of our fan base today seem old in mind and are happier chatting or moaning than supporting the team. Maybe the tough position we're in will kick start some life into our sleeping fan base. |  | | |

Yep I like the Palace model, there's a section that basically flouts h&s law and has turned that section into an old school style atmosphere because it's so rare these days it really is like having an extra man.
As I've said many times we used to have a better atmosphere walking up to the ground, used to love hearing the NB as I was strolling in from the pub. Now? lol |  | | |

the way they responded was very much like how we as fans reacted when the realisation that we were looking at going out of the league was a possibility
I have no doubt the 6k/7k that were turning up those days in the 4th division had a massive impact - the visiting teams left back always looked petrified everytime he came near our corner of the north bank
There's been a noticable improvement in the passion and noise shown by those around me the last couple of games however all it takes is one mistake for them to start slagging our players off again
Have to all be in it together every home game now with support and no dissent - it does help. Everyone all over the stadium needs to play their part to whatever degree possible |  |

I find the Liberty atmosphere like being in a school assembly of old mainly due the the stewarding nazis who are killing passion stone dead.
I be had people complain to me their kid can't quite see or could I stop shouting and or swearing.
My response is to tell them to keep them at home on the Xbox or if it's half term and they are on a trip to an away fixture,then go to centre parks. Let the kids see what football is about before its sanitised to death.
Oh ,and kids don't need burger chips and coke at half time so feed them properly before leaving home.
Real hotbeds of football are the more raw, working class towns so Swansea should be pre eminent.

They're not though. The only time I've seen 'problems' with stewards is when they've the unenviable task of dealing with a drunk tvvat. Never seen anyone thrown out for supporting the team.
Edit - and never mind the Leicester model or Palace model, how about we just remember the spirit and togetherness that bought us to the PL in the first place. 6 months ago everyone was talking about the Swansea model. [Post edited 25 Dec 2015 0:18]
