Influential Labour supporters urge people to vote Plaid 15:31 - Apr 30 with 2458 views | trampie | Top Labour members have published a letter saying Labour voters should give their regional vote to Plaid. The letter is from Labour special advisors, professors and ex Labour MP's. Labour voters particularly in South Wales should vote Plaid on the regional list otherwise voting Labour on the regional list would be a wasted vote, they clearly don't think Labour will get a majority and in that scenario they clearly want to team up with Plaid hence their plea.

Influential Labour supporters urge people to vote Plaid on 16:11 - Apr 30 with 1397 views | Wingstandwood | That's exactly what one of Labour's phone canvassers suggested to me on the phone a few weeks back! I'm living in the Gower constituency and I get the vibe Labour seem to be rather worried bearing in mind my house has so far had three canvassing phone calls and numerous leaflets. My road/others in locality also had a visit from Carwyn Jones and my Labour candidate. Your explanation sort of explains things cos I thought "Why would they tell me to vote for another party and not them"? I have yet to see anyone from any of the other parties doorstepping and meeting the electorate?......Disappointing effort so far!.....Next week will they call?

Influential Labour supporters urge people to vote Plaid on 16:51 - Apr 30 with 1363 views | nice_to_michu | Actually, it's just because UKIP could potentially win some seats on the regional list, so a vote for Plaid on the regional list (your second vote) is slightly more palatable than putting a UKIP candidate into office. That is the reason, nothing else. Labour are unlikely to win as many "top-up" regional seats because they will have a lot of seats from the first (constituency) votes.
Influential Labour supporters urge people to vote Plaid on 17:00 - Apr 30 with 1348 views | trampie | Plaid could hold the balance of power, Labour realise this, if it proves to be the case I hope Plaid drive a hard bargain with whoever to get as many of their social justice policies in place as possible.

Agreed! I really do hope they piss in Welsh Labour's gravy. The irony is?...... if Plaid puts Welsh Labour in a submissive headlock and finally puts a stop all this disgusting Cardiff bias?....Plaid will actually IMO save Welsh Labour from itself because Labour is too deluded, complacent and bubble enclosed to do so itself. Labour becomes the 'listening' party of fairness, equality and social justice out of enforced necessity! The sad thing for Plaid is they may actually strengthen Labour and lose future votes by doing so? [Post edited 30 Apr 2016 17:15]

"Social justice policies" - Such as?

Spending cuts in the NHS disguised as "efficiency savings". A very Tory tactic, I hasten to add

Yep. Leanne Wood describes herself as a socialist, but barely any of the other elected representatives of Plaid are even left-of-centre. That fact seems to have bypassed many. Besides, she may not even be leader in a month or so, and Plaid will go back to being the nationalist right-wingers they always have been. They are nationalists with a few populist ideas, they will do anything to see an independent Wales. I'm not suggesting that all their supporters are nationalists, but it should be apparent to most that they are nationalists to the core, and have had far more in common with rural-Tories in England than the working class here. | | | | Login to get fewer ads
Influential Labour supporters urge people to vote Plaid on 18:54 - Apr 30 with 1260 views | acejack3065 | Most Labour people I know are voting Lib Dem, Plaid or Green on the list. Voting Labour on the list in the South Wales West region is a wasted vote so you might as well pick your poison. Personally I'm torn between Lib dems and Plaid. I quite like Peter Black so I'd probably vote for him "indirectly".

Influential Labour supporters urge people to vote Plaid on 19:38 - Apr 30 with 1223 views | Wingstandwood | Here is my prediction both Plaid and UKIP will see a significant rise(s) in individual voting numbers whilst Labour is going to witness the total opposite! Yeah IMO Labour may have its expected wins in stronghold seats but the party will see an extremely worrying decline in its vote count/core support figures. The reason?......Its donkey vote is dying out year on year and is not being replenished by a new young working-class generation many whom will never ever (for their entire lives!) set foot in a ballot station/polling booth. Also ex- Labour loyalist/non-donkey voters like myself of the more discerning type that weigh up our options have had enough of a party that's only concern is Cardiff! I will come back post-election and hold my hands up if wrong but Labour are IMO in for an extremely unsatisfactory result-night and post election hangover where an almighty blame game will kick off!

Indeed That's coming The London media frenzy will then blame Corbyn & all his anti Semitic prayers . While the rest of Wales know the real reason .

That would correct in Trampie's alternate reality. In our world it is incorrect.

Yeah and here's another prediction of mine i.e. get ready for blame-diversion from various Welsh Labour A.M's! They won't blame their Cardiff-centric policies/past historical Cardiff bias but sprout the cliched clap-trap of "not getting their message across strongly enough" and "having the need to reconnect with the voters". They'll blame their campaign, voters not turning out from their support base and the voters themselves for not realising just what lucky b#stards they/we are to have Labour in a WAG. Don't expect any mention of what will now become to them the dreaded (with a capitol) 'C' word!.......Cardiff. Yeah their sh#te situation on post-election morning will be nothing at all to do with them!
