Right, it is another one I will pursue and to be honest, ten years ago too late. One of my educating friends said that I would still get a job as I would be cheap with so much experience.
I will look at all the great advice also offered above an work on it.
My manager and me have since fallen out on a monumental scale and I am now looking at constructive dismissal.

Thank you - if I did become a teacher I do wonder how I would deal with school politics and also wonder how I would deal with a 30 year old telling me what to do. I would add that getting a LinkedIn profile can be a boon to networking.
So many of my IT contracts have come from having a mate/former colleague "on the inside" who is prepared to recommend me.
