Thought it was a nice gesture.

Indeed. Anything to raise awareness of the Palestinian cause has to be a good thing.

I wonder though, does it has anything to do with the historical hatred of Jews by Catholics?

Hitler was never a Fascist, what he was though was Roman Catholic. A former altar boy in point of fact, just like Sands.

You make the assumption that all Celtic supporters are Catholics and all Catholics hate Jews; nothing like a generalisation. Besides, the issue is with the Israeli state, not Judaism.

And I always thought Sands was a convicted criminal who died after voluntarily going on hunger strike

He was Raynor.. convicted because he was planning to blow up some building with others.. and decided to starve himself.. the police even tried to force feed him... but he was sh*tting and sticking his fingers down his throat when force fed.

National Socialism was a very close strain of fascism... fascism in its purest sense being best exemplified by Mussolini beginning in 1919... But Nazism was a form of fascism in things like anti liberalism and anti democracy, the superiority of the state, the rejection of Marxism etc etc, but the difference was mainly the racial element. Fascism wasn't necessarily, by definition, a racist ideology although it more or less was by default, but then you could argue so was capitalism. Nazi Germany was ultimately a racial state.

The reason I used both Adolf and fascism when greeting you was that your posts have portrayed traits of both.

Well I have a First in History with the highest GPA in my year, my lecturers seemed to think I had some talent, so maybe you could do with a lesson or 10, given you baffling grasp of the subject.

Your apparently basic command of the English language would seem to preclude the possibility of you having attained a First in any of the humanities, let alone History.

Why? Because I didn't proof read my post and I left an R out because I was typing fast? Don't worry, I proof read my dissertation.

Would you like to see evidence? Or do you not wish to look like a bigger tit than you already do?
