Terra Siciliana 13:24 - Aug 28 with 3144 views | waynekerr55 | Did anyone go to Lidl (Gorseinon or other branch) and try this out?

Did I miss something last night?

Terra Siciliana on 14:08 - Aug 28 with 1542 views | perchrockjack | Not really. A Humourous thread led to inter necine squabbling with Darran and the dorks versus the west Wirral one. It was removed as it was getting nasty. Just a shame we can't have a reality planet swans . Or a Swansea FAn big brothTher

Terra Siciliana on 14:08 - Aug 28 with 1542 views | Lord_Bony | Best draw a line for all concerned and move on.

Terra Siciliana on 14:12 - Aug 28 with 1530 views | perchrockjack | You re right bony. No more insults, no more abuse , no more vacuous stereotypical bile. My next column will be on marks and spencer food hall. Are they worth it. All to come on perch recommends for the discerning shopper
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:15 - Aug 28 with 1522 views | Lord_Bony | That's more like it. I'm thinking of running a column on Bargain Booze and such like for the run up to the festive season this year. It's sure to be a winner with the hard drinkers on here..

Terra Siciliana on 14:17 - Aug 28 with 1515 views | perchrockjack | Bargain booze and perch do not blend well. I d actually cross the road to avoid passing them as the punters seem very common. None in our village anyway.
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:19 - Aug 28 with 1508 views | Lord_Bony | Suppose it's too good for you then is it.?
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:24 - Aug 28 with 1500 views | perchrockjack | What is too good for me? BB is not my sort of place ,like the conservative club for many on here
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:28 - Aug 28 with 1493 views | Lord_Bony | What's the difference between the punters of Bargain Booze and Lidls then? They are all working class scum surely, shuffling about looking for bargains and such like...
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:32 - Aug 28 with 1482 views | perchrockjack | Now you re being provocative ,which is ironic. BB is for those mainly interested in getting pissed cheaply and quickly. Lidl is a family shop, as is aldi, but you knew that. Aldi and Lidl are in knutsford, Nantwich and many parts of Cheshire Wealthy people shop there. They are often ones who don't piss their money away. There again, poor people waste money of scratch cards
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:41 - Aug 28 with 1470 views | Lord_Bony | With respect sir,I would say they both have pretty much the same clientele and same product lines drinkswise. Cheap booze, with some more 《up market 》 choices for the more discerning conneisuer. ..and full of hopefulls for that ever elusive rollover spending their cash on thin air....no difference.
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:45 - Aug 28 with 1454 views | dickythorpe | We need to hear about food and drink far more than we do on here. I enjoy reading the choices posters on here make and the reviews of establishments.
Terra Siciliana on 14:45 - Aug 28 with 1453 views | perchrockjack | With equal respect utterly wrong. My missus loves Lidl and drinks little. I think she rather would attend an eisteddfod than enter a BB. Lidl stores ,here anyway, are in good residential areas. BB aren't. You need to remember the knutsford branch was overwhelmed on opening day recently. Shrewd people recognising value . My daughter trains several wealthy women who shop in Lidl aldi and Marrks food halls. Snobbery nothing to do with it
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:52 - Aug 28 with 1441 views | Lord_Bony | Snobbery has nothing to do with it? We are talking Lidls here not Harrods of Knightsbridge! Thanks for shoe horning that information in there...
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:57 - Aug 28 with 1416 views | perchrockjack | You miss my point, not for the first time so pay attention. It's often the case those with money are careful as to how and where they spend their dosh. I've been in the company of those who live from hand to mouth but spend most of their time eating fast food and buying lunch and also some really wealthy ones who make their own lunch and are careful as to how their funds are spent. You ll find many professional people will not pay ost over the odds for anything.
| |
Terra Siciliana on 14:59 - Aug 28 with 1409 views | perchrockjack | Let me add. Home bargains have sun lotion ...Amber solair ...it's half price compared with local boots. It's in an affluent area. They can't get enough of it.

Stop trying to be nice, it won't last and it doesn't suit you.
Terra Siciliana on 15:07 - Aug 28 with 1396 views | Lord_Bony | Well then if thats the case then im pretty sure many a wealthy person would have no problem pulling up outside a Bargain Booze outlet in their shiny new BMW or Audi to get some cheap booze on their way home...or maybe they would avoid shopping at such an establishment and would prefer to drive a further five miles or so up the road in search of a local Lidls? Now that would be much better for their image

I think what Perch is alluding to is bargain booze's primary audience is those looking for a six pack of Winnie Mandela as cheaply as possible, whereas Aldi and Lidl are trying to catch a more diverse customer base.

Lidl's Ruby Rooster and Golden Goose caught me this morning at 89p when I was shopping for the Perlenbacher staple for my diet. Not opened one yet. Was I done? Perch...your daughter trains women to shop? My missus is olympic standard. Self taught.

You reckon Lidl and Aldi are catering for the top end of the market? Kinell

Of course not, where did I say that? They're certainly nabbing custom from all of the big supermarkets including Waitrose and Marks. Plenty of punters from Berkhamstead and St Albans making their way to Aldi.
