Well, thinking outside the box. we either need a proven manager with track record etc - Frank DeBoer type maybe. If no such manager is available, How about someone who ..
1)Knows the Swansea way
2)Has been a major part of the "way" Swansea play for the past 12 years
3)Will have a good knowledge of the current squad
4) Has played at the highest level
5) IS respected by Swansea fans
6) Will be, as a top pro, aware of what is lacking in the current squad and what to get in January
7) Would - be available
8) A better option than the one we just sacked, but is unproven as a manager, but hey it is desperate times you know??
9) Just putting it out there.............
Got it yet? - Maybe LEON? with a lot of support of course from the likes of Curtis etc

sorry, assumed everyone on here was up to speed! developed under Martinez and then continued with successive managers. pretty much involved a solid back 4 , 2 x wide players, fulcrum centre forward who can hold the ball up and bring the remaining 3 midfield players into the action as they do with him! High tempo passing game, press the opposition, win the ball back at soonest opportunity and keep it for long periods, fit players and need to be coached properly as to how/when to do certain things.crisp passing, form triangles, 2 always available to receive ball.
Think thats it in a nutshell, it worked very well for quite a few seasons. - until dropping off for a variety of reasons last 2 years!! [Post edited 28 Dec 2016 2:41]

The only players in the squad capable of playing such a game are Rangel, Taylor, Dyer, Leon and Routledge. No other player has shown any signs of being able to comfortably retain possession. Even Siggy is useless and usually gives the ball away within 5 seconds of receiving it. [Post edited 28 Dec 2016 2:44]

found it so sad yesterday that 4 of the players who used to do all that, ended up on the field together, yet those 4 players were getting phased out 3 seasons ago. dyer, routs, angel, leon. now they are being relied upon in the twighlight of their careers, bad managament!! | | | |

You know full well what it is. If your point is that we shouldn't be looking anywhere near it in a relegation battle with a squad unsuited to it, then I completely agree.
Edit - and to answer the original post, putting Leon in charge now would be mental. Same goes for Rangel, Trumdle, Tate, KOL, James Thomas or any other fan favourites with no managerial experience. [Post edited 28 Dec 2016 7:39]
