It's currently a big if.

We needed a centre back when Ash left. It is a bit late to address the CB issues now.

We would be comfortably mid table with Joe Allen and Brendan Rodgers

Can't see it happening. Can't see him wanted to join a club likely to be fighting against relegation, and even if he did, surely we'll be talking £100k+ a week wages.

If he had JT onside and assuming he didn't rattle everyone's WAG it would be a no brainer. Mawson would develop immensely next to him

True, but I despise JT.

Me too, but he'd be exactly the character we need around the club. Too many without a backbone.

Excellent centre back, excellent leader, bad human being but I could put up with him for a season or two during a period of transition if it leads to getting some sort of stability and quality back in our club.

Glad to see Clement starting to make use of his contacts book even if this one doesn't come off.

Not for me.

He's 36, FFS! Why do you think Chelsea are getting rid?

Undoubtedly a great player in his day, despite being an obnoxious bar steward, but now he's slow, error prone and picking up injuries.

We need to find the next John Terry, not the last one.

Past it. Hardly played for 12 months, unfit now, certainly not match fit and too slow now. Turn the clock back 2/3 seasons and yes we need a couple of players with his ability and determination to be a winner.

Also reported that WHU and Palace would be interested.

More than likely one of them, if any report was true, as it would allow him to stay in the London area

Just won't happen.

I'd bet on a payday move to a money league. If not, I'd think one of the London clubs. Well past his best but he won't go short of offers.

Whatever you think of John Terry I'd wager that if we'd signed him in January we would be nowhere near the bottom 3 now

You're having a mare lately Tums he'd be a great signing on a one year contract.

Agree. He'd be a great signing as much for his leadership as anything. I couldn't care less if he's a tw@t. Really can't see it happening though.

Init. Sales of Kleenex and other branded man size tissues go through the roof at the thought of Lord Lee coming in yet we dismiss someone who, whilst past it would certainly add a lot and, more importantly, help Alfie develop

Innit eh! We're on the verge of relegation, no leader on the pitch or in the dressing room, but if somehow we manage to stay up some don't want one of the best leaders the Premier lge has ever seen just because he's a bit of cvnt, when 'a bit of a cvnt' is exactly what this team needs!

It's fair to say that Terry's playing days are fading fast, but his leadership skills and experience are invaluable. I take him.

The penny has finally dropped:

http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/swansea-city/news/clement-swansea-have-miss

"Ashley Williams was a big character like that in this dressing room. He is spoken of very well here, not only in terms of his ability as a player but also a leader in the dressing room. Perhaps the side have missed that."
